Is Handwriting Coaching WRITE for your child?
Handwriting coaching is a great option for a child who is struggling with handwriting. There are various factors that may be contributing to sloppy or illegible handwriting (i.e. fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual motor skills, incorrect pencil grasp, and limited instruction of letter formation); all of which can be easily identified and remediated by a handwriting coach.
The Gardner School is an academic preschool serving children ages six weeks to five years. At The Gardner School, we nurture intellectual growth through a variety of visual and audio aids, educational toys, games, puzzles, and learning supplies. We believe a well-rounded education encourages an emerging sense of self and socialization alongside intellectual exploration. The Arts and Sciences Summer Exploration Program is a one-week non-residential academic enrichment program for middle (current 7-8 graders) and high school (current 9-11) students. In-person classes meet from 9am to 4pm each day and are taught by Ohio State faculty, staff and graduate students. Teaching is active and hands-on, encouraging students to explore new areas of study or allow them to engage in content they already have an interest in. Summer Exploration is offered in three, one-week sessions in June 2024. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lauryn Dant is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (I.1440362-SUPV) specialized in child sexual development. Lauryn has spent over a decade providing therapy for children with sexually reactive and offending behaviors, and children who have survived sexual abuse. In Lauryn’s years working with children and adolescents Lauryn noticed the lack of resources available to caregivers.
