5 To Try: Columbus Cookies

Who doesn’t love cookies?

We have so many great bakeries here in Columbus and in the past few months, my kids and I have been doing a cookie tour and finding which ones have our favorites!

Here are five around Columbus, which we have really enjoyed! If you’re looking for more, my friend Julie from What Should We Do Today Columbus has rounded up 5 more for you to try!

Happy eating!

The Original Goodie Shop, Upper Arlington

The Original Goodie Shop has so many bakery treats! Of course, we were there to try their cookies, but they have cakes, donuts, breads and more! They had a wide variety of cookies, like chocolate chip and oatmeal, and lots of fun iced ones! All of their cookies are a good size and not very expensive. They’re located near the Tremont Library and Northam park, so you can make an extended trip out of this one if the weather is nice!

Mrs. Goodman’s, Worthington

Mrs. Goodman’s has been a Worthington favorite since 1986! Their cookies are huge and most only cost $1.95! They have a wide variety of flavors like M&M, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Snickerdoodle and my favorite, oatmeal raisin! They also offer other bakery goodies like brownies, scones, pies and cakes! Their store is just across the street from the Worthington library, so once again, you could make this a fun outing for the kids!

Pattycake Bakery, Clintonville

Are you looking for something vegan? Pattycake Bakery has you covered! I’m not vegan, but I can attest that their cookies are delicious and you would never know they’re made without products like milk or butter! In addition, they carry many other delicious-looking bakery treats and some that are also gluten-free.

Lion Cub’s Cookies, Grandview

Lion Cub’s Cookies is new to Columbus and just opened a storefront in 2021. Their cookies are of the non-traditional sense, as in they are huge! Not just in width, but in thickness too! You should have seen how big my kids’ eyes got when they saw them! They offer flavors on a rotating basis but always have classic chocolate chip, cookies ‘n cream and a chocolate-based flavor.

Bumbles Bakeshop, Powell (Shawnee Hills)

Bumbles Bakeshop is another new one to the Columbus cookie scene! Located near the zoo, it would make for a fun after zoo trip! They had a variety of cookies to choose from, but they also had cake pops, muffins, brownies and more! They even had a cute area where you could buy party supplies like napkins and candles. My kids loved the cake pop and I really enjoyed the giant chocolate chip cookie! It was a thicker cookie with lots of big and small chocolate chips inside! Yum!
