November is here! November is a month full of gratitude and we hope you can find some joy throughout this month and be with those you are thankful for in your life! From craft markets, to outdoor events, along with Veterans Day and Thanksgiving activities, this month is full of fun!

November 1-7

November 1: Pee Wee Play Gym: 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. | Come to the Westerville Community Center for a morning of fun and gross and fine motor practice!

November 2: Toddler Time at Get Air: 10:00 a.m. – Noon | Special time set for your little ones! All Tuesdays and Thursdays!

November 3: Chicago!: See the band playing at the Palace Theater!

November 4: Cheers to Charity Halloween Costume Drive: 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Endeavor Brewery | Come donate gently used costumes for children in need in the Dominican Republic.

November 4-14: Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play: Various times at Riffe Center | A post-apocalyptic tale of survival, compassion, and the enduring power of The Simpsons. Using multiple studio theatres, Mr. Burns combines music, laughter, and tears in a thrilling theatrical experience that explores the need for community, entertainment, and storytelling in a world where everything familiar has disappeared.

November 4-7: Young Frankenstein: Various times | Presented at the Short North Stage!

November 5: Teen Night: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. | For $5, come to the Westerville Community Center for the use of the pool, gym, climbing wall, and adventure fitness!

November 5 & 6: The Game’s Afoot7:00 p.m. at Hilliard Darby High School | See the Darby theater students bring this mystery to life. Prices are between $5-$10 a ticket.

November 6: Home Depot Kids DIY Workshop: Each kit pack includes a certificate of completion, an apron pin and a Kids Workshop apron. Easy enough for a 5-year old, but fun for all ages, this pre-cut wooden kit encourages creativity and instills a sense of accomplishment.

November 6: Worthington Farmers’ Market Indoor: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | The market moves indoors for the season but still has many great seasonal items!

November 6: Holly Day Bazaar: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in Westerville | Juried Craft & Art event ~ held for the 32nd year! Join in shopping, holiday spirit, lunch, secret Santa, 25+ silent auction-themed baskets, & live piano music. $1 entrance includes a raffle ticket.

November 6: Dia De Los Muertos: Regular hours at Columbus Museum of Art| Celebrate the rich origins of Día de los Muertos at CMA with day-long offerings to connect, and honor our loved ones who have departed. Enjoy $5 admission all day; children 3 and under are free. There will be activities from October 26- November 6.

November 6: Under the Sea with Ariel: New Albany High school presents Under the Sea with Ariel as a live interactive experience. The event includes a bubble dance party, an Under The Sea Tea with snacks and refreshments, arts & crafts, games, photo ops, sing-along, mini-performance with some of the cast, storytime with a special guest, boutique, raffle, and silent auction.

November 7: Free Community Days: Come out to the Franklin Park Conservatory for a free Sunday!

November 7: Columbus Crew Game: 3:30 p.m. at Lower.Com Stadium | Get your tickets today!

November 8-15

November 9: World of Wonder in New Albany: 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. in New Albany | Ages 3-5. Explore and connect through nature. $15 per child.

November 9: Family Night at Hofbrahaus: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Face painting, Live Entertainment, Balloon Animals and Kids Eat Free on the 2nd Tuesday of each month!

November 9: $2 Skate Zone Night: $2 Tuesdays for the Family!

November 10: Toddlers in Nature: Bedtime for Animals: 10:00 a.m. | Gather in New Albany for a morning of fun and adventure!

November 11: Veterans Day Breakfast: 8:30 a.m. | Free to Veterans and $5 for the general public. Breakfast is after the presentation.

November 11:Veterans Day Free Day at the Zoo!: 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. at The Columbus Zoo | They are honoring veterans for their sacrifices with free admission.

November 11: Veterans Day Celebration: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | The Veterans Memorial Committee of Gahanna will host an observance and memorial brick dedication from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 73 W. Johnstown Road.

November 12: Pinterest Craft Club: 2:00 p.m. in New Albany | Join in for a class with a different project each month to see if it’s as easy as it looks 🙂

November 12: Southern Tide Tailgate Tour: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. | Celebrate all things OSU and Southern Tide.

November 12: WNCI Tailgate Tour: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Come out to Urban Myer’s Pint House in Dublin to see all things OSU!

November 12 and 13: Ohio Made Market: 10:00 a.m. at The Hollywood Casino | Local Artisans will be teaming up to create a safe event for wonderful handmade market items this holiday season.

November 13: Chelsea Handler: Get your tickets today at The Palace Theater.

November 14: Not Your Mama’s Holiday In Person Craft Market # 1: 11:00 a.m. at Brewdog in Canal Winchester | The best of handmade businesses will be joining for this indoor/outdoor market with food tracks, a bar, photo booth, and amazing makers.

November 14: Veteran’s Day Parade: 2:00 p.m. in Hilliard | Special celebration in Hilliard for our Veterans.

November 16-23

November 18-20: Christmas Corner: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at The Franklin County Fairgrounds | Free admission and 65 holiday craft booths! Three days again this year!

November 18: Zoo Member Wildlights Preview: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Columbus Zoo | Members only can be the first to see the Wildlights!

November 18-21: New Albany’s Little Mermaid: Various times at the McCoy Center | Come see the New Albany High School put on this classic show.

November 19: Butch Bando’s Lights Drive-Thru: 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Sunday- Thursday and 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday | This amazing drive-thru event returns this month!

November 19: Easton Tree Lighting: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | The parade is back this year!

November 19- January 3: Wildlights at The Zoo: Check the website for times at The Columbus Zoo | You need to add this to your family traditions if you haven’t already! Members-only night is Thursday, November 18, 2021.

November 20: All Ohio Reptile Show: 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. at The Franklin County Fairgrounds | Come to see your favorite reptiles!

November 20: Not Your Mama’s Holiday In Person Craft Market # 2: 11:00 a.m. at Greek Orthodox Catherdral in Short North | The best handmade businesses will be joining for this indoor/outdoor market with food trucks, a bar, photo booth, and amazing makers.

November 20- January 9: Franklin Park Conservatory Aglow: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Come to see the brilliant lights all throughout the Conservatory and Children’s Garden this year! Please see their website as special rates apply and times this year for members as the aglow event begins at 5:00 p.m.

November 20: Wine for Wildlife: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at The Columbus Zoo | Come support the Zoo and the wildlife with a fun night out!

November 21: New Albany Tree Lighting: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. | Festive music, carriage rides, cookie decorating and so much more at this holiday event!

November 21: Holiday Lights Celebration in Gahanna: 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in Gahanna | The excitement of Gahanna’s Holiday Lights Celebration begins with family-friendly events that include a live reindeer petting zoo, horse‑drawn carriage rides, crafts, games and activities, bands and more!

November 24-30

November 24: Sweet Turkey Baking Craft: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Franklin Park Conservatory | This event is back by popular demand! Registration opens on November 1.

November 25: Flying Feather 4 miler: Register today for this fun run and run off your turkey!

November 25: Thanksgiving Skate: 6:00 p.m. at Skate Zone 71 | Come burn off your Thanksgiving calories!

November 26: Lucy Depp Park Light Show: Located in Powell and this light show covers 5 houses, 5 1/2 acres, and 40, 000 lights! Runs Sunday- Thursday from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. on weekends. Runs until New Year’s Day.

November 26-27: Create a Gingerbread House: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Franklin Park Conservatory | Head to The Wells Barn on a horse-drawn carriage for an afternoon of gingerbread fun! Create a mini gingerbread house with graham crackers, icing and candy. $6 per gingerbread house.

November 26-28: Hoover Garden Holiday Open House: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Hoover Garden Center  | Welcome the holiday season with cookies and hot cider! If weather permits, KB Dawgs food cart will be joining as well.  Create memories with your little by painting ornaments to take home with you! Stroll through the gardens and take in the lovely sights of the holidays, while picking out your family’s live cut tree (the best selection in Columbus!), live greenery and other Christmas decor.

November 26: Clifton Mill Lights: 5:00 p.m. | Clifton Mill Lights turn on the day after Thanksgiving until New Year’s Eve! Runs until December 30.

November 26: Dazzling Christmas Lights in Westerville: 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. | First night for the show! The display is one house with over 100,000 Dazzling Christmas Lights that dance to music. Tune your car radio to 90.1 fm. and bring can food items for Warm. You can also play the music from your phone this year too. The display runs November 27 to December 31 Sunday-Thursday 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. This is a free event all season long.

November 26- January 2: Holiday Lights at The Columbus Commons: Dusk- 11:00 p.m. | Be sure to check their website for updates on a date for this free dazzling light show!

November 28: Worthington Holiday Open House: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. | Holiday themed activities, a visit from Santa and more! Stay tuned for more details.

Maureen Ingham has enjoyed living in the great city of Columbus for nearly 13 years! Originally from Canton, Ohio, Maureen attended Ohio University and will always be a bobcat at heart! After completing her education degree in Athens, she made her way to The Ohio State University to obtain a Masters degree in Special Education. She fell in love with Columbus then and convinced her now husband to join her in this awesome city! She taught 5th grade for 6 years, before deciding to stay home to raise two beautiful girls. Their family has recently moved to Worthington with their two girls and are excited to plant their roots here! Their first daughter, Maeve is 6 and her sister, Reese will soon be 5 years old. They welcomed a son, Miles in March 2020. Maureen has been with The Columbus Moms Blog since the beginning and now enjoys working on editing and events for the blog. She also works as a Postpartum Doula with her sister at a company called Together Wee Grow. They provide night nursing services, as well as daytime support to local families and babies in Columbus. It is a wonderful job to work along her sister and help families with their precious little ones in a vulnerable time period. In between the night shifts, sweeping up crumbs, exploring Columbus, and getting kids to where they need to be, Maureen enjoys working out, trying new recipes and restaurants, traveling, spending time with family, being crafty and trying to help others whenever she can! Maureen has many Columbus favorites. Her go-to restaurant is Third and Hollywood, she enjoys a sweet treat at Sassafrass Bakery or Fox in the Snow, a slice of pizza at Dewey's Pizza and a warm cup of joe at Highline Coffee. A perfect Saturday involves an outdoor activity with her family and trying a new restaurant when they can! She is excited to be a part of an excellent team here at Columbus Moms blog and hopes to be able to inspire mothers that small acts of kindness go a long way in raising their kids and the city they live in!
