North Orange Family Dentistry: A Five-Star Experience

Many thanks to our sponsors at North Orange Family Dentistry for providing Kristin with excellent dental care and treatment during her visit.

Located in their newly built offices at 7325 Gooding Blvd in Delaware, North Orange Family Dentistry is now open Monday through Friday and every second Saturday of the month. Whether you’re in the care of Dr. Kyle Bogan, Dr. Cindy Ellinger, Dr. Richard Hall, or their team of professional hygienists and caring office staff, you’re in for a great appointment! They pride themselves on their Five-Star Experience. I can personally attest to this after being treated to a full exam and cleaning.

1. Authentic“We believe every patient deserves personalized and compassionate attention from health professionals who authentically care.”

The morning of my appointment was one of “those mornings” for us. My daughter was ornery, the dog wouldn’t come inside, and I went the wrong way on Rt. 23. We arrived ten whole minutes behind. That may not seem like a lot, but I loathe being late to appointments because I know it means making other patients wait. Despite this, the receptionist was incredibly kind and understanding. She simply checked me in quickly, had me fill out two more forms I had missed, and helped us settle into the waiting room.

Additionally, my hygienist was warm and welcoming. We chatted easily. Even though we were there for me, my outgoing and curious daughter pummeled the hygienist with questions. She patiently answered every single time with respect and explanations a four-year-old could understand. This is not a skill everyone possesses. I’ve been to a few “family” dentists who weren’t actually great with kids, whether they were there for the child or there with a parent/guardian. So when I’m in a situation with a provider who genuinely cares about their interactions with my daughter, it’s such a relief!

2. Comfortable“We’re dedicated to helping every patient relax, rest easy, and enjoy themselves every time they visit.”

There’s plenty of seating, a k-cup coffee maker, a mini-fridge with water, and a kid’s corner with a TV playing cartoons, books, and a small table with stools. There are two unisex restrooms that are well-stocked and also very clean. I appreciated that they were accessible from the lobby as opposed to having to ask to use a bathroom that’s typically back behind the reception desk.

As soon as we got to my exam room, our hygienist went out of her way to change the TV channel for my daughter, get her settled comfortably in a chair and gave her a token to redeem for a prize after the appointment. I didn’t take advantage of these amenities, but I love that they offer pillows for patients and blankets if you get cold! I was, however, accommodated when I had to make a special request about my x-rays. My gag reflex is incredibly sensitive. When I told my hygienist this, she happily grabbed pediatric x-ray paddles for the intraoral x-rays and was literally running back and forth from me to the x-ray button outside to keep from having the paddles in my mouth any longer than necessary.

From start to finish, my exam was easy going and thorough. I was able to complete most of my new patient forms online. Normally giving my full medical history is a pain, but I found the process to be user-friendly and was able to finish the forms in only about 5-10 minutes. If you’re not able to fill out the forms ahead of time, that’s fine too! The office has tablets in-house set up for the same forms for your convenience.

The exam itself moved quickly but didn’t skip any details. I was given a panoramic x-ray, the traditional intraoral x-rays, a visual exam, a good cleaning and polishing, had dental photographs taken, and was seen by the doctor for a final check. I was grateful that everything was explained to me along the way. I’m a believer that this kind of interaction is crucial seeing as I am a huge part of my oral health and not just a layperson who doesn’t understand dentistry jargon. I was given options when needed including an impressive toothpaste flavor menu. I want to note that they offered me teeth whitening trays as a part of my complimentary exam, but I had to decline because of my pesky gag reflex. In addition to the general check-up services mentioned above and tooth whitening treatments, North Orange Family Dentistry offers the following:

  • Fluoride treatments
  • Oral cancer exams
  • Tooth-colored fillings
  • Sealants
  • Root canal therapy
  • Extractions
  • TMJ/TMD treatment
  • Snoring & sleep apnea aid
  • Dental implants
  • Porcelain veneers
  • Periodontal therapy
  • Tooth repair with bonding

4. First Class“Our team works hard to stay ahead of the curve with their education and skill development.”

There was never a point during my interactions with the staff at North Orange that I felt like I wasn’t in knowledgeable and highly capable hands. The steady pace and flow of my appointment can only come from extensive experience and training. There were expert answers to all of my (and my daughter’s) questions as well as quality of care reasons for each portion of my exam. My hygienist followed one of the resident doctors to this new office from a previous job. That kind of loyalty stems from a desire to be associated with high standards and impeccable treatment for employees and patients alike. For further information on their doctor’s qualifications, check out their bios on their webpage!

5. Advanced“We believe in using leading-edge technologies and the latest treatment solutions to offer families the most advanced dental care.”

Personally, I was nerding out over the wireless tooth polisher alone. (Technology is so cool!) But North Orange Family Dentistry uses modern tech as an integral part of their treatment plans. From the tablets for paper-free registration to the digital radiography for quick and painless x-rays, they offer multiple options for advanced dental care.

  • Cerec System – allows crowns, inlays, and onlays to be created in-office in an hour or less
  • Oralid – allows early detection of most forms of oral cancer
  • Laser Dentistry – painlessly fixes minor cavities without shots
  • Digital Dentures – streamlines denture molding for a more precise and comfortable fit
  • Invisalign and Clearcorrect – orthodontic options and alternatives to traditional braces
  • Botox Injection – relieves pain associated with TMJ/TMD

If you’re in the market for a new dentist or are looking for an upgrade in dental care, I recommend checking out North Orange Family Dentistry. I wish we lived closer to their offices! Don’t take my word for it though. Contact them for more information or to schedule an appointment and see for yourself!
