4th of July Fireworks and Festivities: In and Around Columbus


Although many communities that normally offer fireworks and festivities aren’t doing anything to celebrate the Fourth of July this year, there’s still lots going on around Columbus.

There are lots of creative and different ideas this year. So here is your list of ways to celebrate!

June 29 – July 2, 2020

Red, White and Blue Express

Traveling through neighborhoods in Hilliard will be the Red, White and Blue Express. This includes the fire department, police department and City of Hilliard vehicles.

Hilliard also has other things planned such as Front Yard Food with Friends on the Fourth, Creative Art Competition, Chalk Art and more. All of those events have different days and times.

July 1 – July 4, 2020

Red, White & BOOM!

This four-night event will be shown on NBC4 and showcase the best fireworks shows from the past 39 years.

July 1 – July 5, 2020

Lights of Liberty

This is a drive-thru digital light show from Butch Bando’s Fantasy of Lights where you tune into a specific radio station to watch a light show synchronized to Patriotic music.

Where: Westerville Athletic Complex from 9 pm – 11:30 pm

Cost: $10 per vehicle

July 3 – July 4, 2020

Fair Food in Dublin

Don’t miss out on fair food this holiday! Classic fair food such as funnel cakes, french fries, lemonade, corn dogs and fried Oreos will be sold.

Where: The parking lot of Big Sandy Superstore in Dublin from 12 pm – 8 pm.

Red, White, and Blue Event

This is a charity event with a pet parade, live music, food, drink specials and giveaways.

Hang out in your front yard and enjoy live music, small floats, and exotic and vintage vehicles as they pass by your home between 6:00 and 9:00 pm on the 4th.

New Albany

Although COVID-19 changed the original plans, New Albany is planning a 2 ½ hour parade beginning at 10 am that will travel throughout many neighborhoods. There will be fire trucks, police cars, popular kids’ characters, musical guests, local businesses, and local sports teams.

Fireworks: 10:00 pm (abbreviated show)

Activities: The parade, entertainment and food vendors have been cancelled. Be sure to click on the website to see the road closures and closed public viewing areas.

Upper Arlington

Parade: Beginning at 9 am. This year the parade route has been revamped and there will be two different routes traveling through numerous neighborhoods.

4th of July Social Distance Parades– Choose from 80 characters and mascots from Paulette’s Princess Parties for a parade, singing, dancing and more.

*Fireworks in Gahanna have been postponed to Labor Day weekend.
