You already know that Columbus Moms Blog is all about YOU, our amazing audience, the wonderful moms of Central Ohio.  Which is why we are hosting an event exclusively for you, celebrating you, and providing access to resources specifically targeted at making your mom-life easier and better.  

Event Details

Bloom: A Celebration of Motherhood, will be held on May 9th, from 6:00-8:30pm, at Noah’s Event Center in New Albany – right off 161, so regardless of where you’re located in Central Ohio, it’s a super easy venue to get to.  If you haven’t been to Noah’s, you’re going to love it.  It’s a beautiful venue, that feels like a luxury hotel.  Plus, it’s extremely close to Soulshine, Mellow Mushroom, and Hudson 29 for an easy pre-event happy hour or a bite to eat with friends (old and new!), post-event.  

So what can you expect at this event?  SO much!  Included in your ticket price of $15 is a Bloom canvas tote “swag bag” fully stocked with local goodies (yes!  actually items!), food and drink tables, 4 breakout sessions featuring amazing speakers discussing mom-centric topics, giveaways galore, and local business interaction. Speakers

We’ve lined up four stellar speakers for Bloom, each bringing something unique and different, while still focusing on topics and information that moms of all stages will find interesting and useful.  Speakers will be scheduled one after the other, so you’ll be able to attend 1, 2, 3, or all 4!  Additionally, each of our speakers will be available at the event before and after their speaking time slots for further audience interaction – the perfect opportunity for you to ask more specific questions!

Whitney Abraham

Whitney is a local mompreneur, who went from a traditional “9-5” fundraising job to running her own businesses from home.  She works to empower women to live healthy, full lives by building their confidence and finding their purpose.  

 

 

 

 

Morgan Metcalf

Morgan is a Positive Discipline Educator; a licensed school psychologist; founder of The Power of Positive Solutions; a contributor to the Columbus Mom’s Blog; and a member of Society Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She facilitates trainings and classes for parents, teachers, and administrators offering authenticity and encouragement.

 

 

 

Anna Patitucci

Anna Patitucci, PT, DPT is a physical therapist specializing in pelvic health as well as having a strong interest in orthopedics. She treats adults with a wide range of pelvic and core dysfunctions, and has a passion for helping people improve understanding of their bodies. She has advanced coursework in pelvic physical therapy, and by nature is a lifelong learner, perpetually engaged in conversation and research about best practices in treatment of her patients.

 

 

 

Rachel Martin

Rachel is a Blogger on FindingJoy.net, where she shares personal, funny, and serious stories about motherhood.  Her work is dedicated to seeking joy in life, specifically in motherhood, and in empowering women.  She is also the author of the the book The Brave Art of Motherhood, Why Being a Mom is Enough as well as the viral posts , and I Forgot How to be The Happy Mom.

 

 

 

Special Features

Photography: 

Our event will be captured in full by local photography Emma Low of Love Emma Photography.  Emma specializes in family portraits, featuring Fall, Holiday, and Easter mini-sessions.  She also captures images for editorial and commercial use.  

Selfie- Station:

Capture a cute shot of you and your friends (old and new!) at our selfie-station provided by Positively You Coaching.  We’ll have the perfect backdrop and props  – and the best part – all images will go right to your own phone for easy sharing and posting!  Don’t forget to tag #CMBbloom2019!

Flowers:

We couldn’t be happier to showcase the beautiful floral art of Rose Bredl.  Nothing elevates a space like flowers, and we’re so pleased to be working with the best to bring Spring inside at our Bloom event.

Non-Profit Partner

Bloom

We are so very pleased to be partnering with the Feel Better Foundation for this event.  Feel Better Foundation is a local non-profit helping families create legacies for their pediatric warriors with life-threatening cancers, diseases, or conditions. These legacies, living and memorial, can be any act of kindness, support, or community outreach that represents a child’s journey and strength. Bloom guests can support their mission by bringing items to the event to donate to surprise the moms and bring some sunshine to their lives.  As a thank you for supporting our non-profit partner, you will receive one additional tickets.  Reps from the Feel Better Foundation will be on hand at the event to collect items and answer questions you may have about their organization.  Below is a list of suggested items.

  • Personal toiletries for hospital stays (personal sized shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, conditioner, and bath gel)
  • Journals (great for taking notes during doctor’s appointments: preferably non-religious to best support all of our moms)
  • Personal size hand-sanitizer
  • Chapstick (hospital rooms are dry)
  • Home or cooking themed magazines for hospital stays (we just try to avoid any inappropriate/celebrity/gossip covers)
  • Fast food gift cards (to help with eating out while in the hospital)- any value
  • Grocery gift cards (to help with the never-ending bills or siblings at home)- any value
  • Snacks for the hospital room (snack packs, individual bags of chips, crackers, candy, etc.)
  • Crosswords, Sudoku, Word Searches
  • Additionally, if anyone would like to give to one of our warriors instead, we are always accepting infant/children/teen books.
