One of the most beautiful things about fall is always an energy of change with familiarity. Whether it is from produce to fall-inspired drinks at a local coffee shop, fall has a way of warming hearts. Another charming aspect of fall are markets. Markets can be anything from grab-and-go style to focusing on an area of life; personally, we are super excited to visit The City Mercantile, a cozy-home market.
The City Mercantile owners Andres and Kirsten started by owning a furniture repurposing studio and then transitioned to operating a home décor line before settling down in Columbus. Since calling Central Ohio home in 2017, they have operated events in Hilliard at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, but they wanted to expand their business while creating a healthy work-life balance. Through family growth and fostering a passion for local businesses, they rebranded into The City Mercantile. The City Mercantile focuses on rustic, vintage-inspired, and farmhouse décor markets.
They now have two autumn 2024 market locations: Hilliard (October 11-13, 2024) and Lebanon (between Cincinnati and Dayton at the Warren County Fairgrounds from November 15-17). The Hilliard event has a theme of “Welcome Home” with long-standing as well as new coming boutique vendors, handmade items, local brands, feel-good live music, fall inspired beverages, and comfort food options.
Personally, I am looking forward to seeing Simply Modern Scents and Birch Tree Home. When I think of autumn needs, candles and bowls immediately come to mind. In our home, autumn is defined with spiced smells and sharing home-roasted pumpkin seeds from a curated wood bowl!
Being back at the Franklin County Fairgrounds after some time away, The City Mercantile is excited to be back with an autumn homecoming. This will be the perfect excuse for a girl’s day, an opportunity to grab a bite to eat with family, get a head start on some holiday shopping, or refresh a few items you may see every day.
Be sure to check out The City Mercantile during their Hilliard Event at the Franklin County Fairgrounds on October 11-13, 2024. Just a reminder, children 12 and under have free admission to The City Mercantile’s events!
