As soon as we pulled up to Funky Scissors, my children were ready to hop out of the car and rush inside. Their eyes were full of surprise as they saw through the window what was inside.

Entertainment
Children have the option of selecting an exciting vehicle to sit in (a pink Barbie Jeep, Police Car, Firetruck or Jeep Wrangler) or they can opt for the NetFlix/Xbox Gaming station. My daughter was up first and of course, she selected the Pink Barbie Car. Next, she picked out the movie from NetFlix and watched it on the TV that was built inside the mirror. Isn’t that so cool?
While my son was waiting there were open gaming chairs so he played Lego Star Wars. He was content as could be and that gave me time to snap lots of photos.
In the waiting area, was a 70″ TV playing a recently released movie and a dry erase board for children to show off their artistic skills. There were so many options to keep the kids busy. I was glad I didn’t have to deal with bored or whiny children. I speak from experience and know that isn’t much fun for anyone!
Glamor & Pampering
When my daughter found out that girl haircuts come with a mini-cure she shrieked with delight. She loves glitz and glam, so I knew that she would soak up every minute of her special treatment. She selected her two favorite colors and the stylist painted her nails as my daughter sat in a high heeled chair. To complete the pampering experience, my daughter’s hair was braided and finished off with glitter spray. She literally had a smile on her face the entire time and kept asking when we could come back.
Locally Owned
I love supporting locally owned businesses and I was shocked to find out that this is not a franchise. I spent a lot of time talking to the owner, Jen G about all the research and time she put into designing a space that parents would want to bring their children. I was impressed with all aspects of our experience including the friendly staff, clean environment, fun atmosphere, bright colors and quality haircuts.
