Girls’ Weekend in Hocking Hills

0

It started three years ago when my girlfriends and I decided to plan an annual trip to Hocking Hills. Hocking Hills is a beautiful state park with over twenty-five miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, rock formations, and caves. It is super convenient to cities nearby, such as Lancaster, Athens, and Columbus! We knew the location was perfect for us as it is a short drive from our home base in Columbus.

When planning a girls’ weekend, it is important to consider how much time you want to explore and how much time you want to relax and recharge. That is one of the many reasons we love Hocking Hills. It has something for everyone!

Here are some ideas of what to do during a girl’s weekend at Hocking Hills.

Hocking Hill’s Market: We had a lot of fun shopping at this market. They have everything from lawn art to antiques, home decor, ice cream, fudge and coffee. You may even find something unique at the weekend flea market here!

Hocking Hills Winery: After a morning of hiking, we relaxed at the Hocking Hills Winery.    We settled on small plates and enjoyed quality wine. Then, we took a seat outdoors, overlooking the beautiful scenery. Be sure to check out Friday and Saturday nights for live music.

Hocking Hills Serenity Salt Cave: This is the only salt cave in Logan, Ohio. They use Halotherapy with the powerful use of salt from the Himalayas. Just forty-five minutes of salt therapy is equivalent to 2-3 days of breathing in the salt air at the beach. We booked a Halotherapy Session and found ourselves refreshed after just forty-five minutes. You can book an appointment at the Zen Den or Salt Cave.

Hiking: Experience natural beauty at its best by hiking through Cedar Falls, Cantwell Cliffs, Rock House, Old Man’s Cave and much more. We decided to hike Conkle’s Hollow one morning. This beautiful, rocky, rugged gorge is truly mystical. We hiked the lower trail which is about three fourths of a mile. Ash Cave is another favorite. We enjoyed the natural cavern with a waterfall surrounded by hiking trails. Bring packed lunches and enjoy a picnic.

Lake Logan Marina: Starting in the spring, rent a pontoon, kayak, or paddleboat and make memories in the sun. For a girls’ trip, make sure to reserve a pontoon and enjoy relaxing along the lake while feeling yourself unwind.

Hocking Hills Canopy Tours: If you are feeling extra adventurous, check out this unforgettable zipline adventure! Our kids love the kid zipline course, but there are many various courses to fill your thrill-seeking heart and make a lasting memory!

Inn and Spa at Cedar Falls: From traditional massages to body treatments, you will find something relaxing for everyone. Meet with a spa therapist that is trained in various techniques such as Hot Stone, Warm Bamboo, and AromaTouch. Book a much deserved treatment here and make a reservation at their popular restaurant, Kindred Spirits.

Relax in a Cabin: Hocking Hills has many lodging options. My family and I own a cabin rental business in Hocking Hills. Check out one of our properties for your next girls’ weekend! Enjoy talking around the firepit, playing cards, drinking coffee on the deck while watching the sunrise, and soaking in the hot tub after a wonderful day of hiking.
