It’s here! The most wonderful time of year! No, not Christmas. It’s fall family portrait season!!! Maybe I am alone in this but fall is my favorite time to get the family together and snap some Kodak moments. The colorful leaves at a gorgeous metro park are simply the icing on the cake. Or the whipped topping on a pumpkin spice latte. Because … fall.

My personal favorite location to offer families and couples to have their portraits taken. No matter what time of year, this metro park always has a lot to offer. From flowers to waterscapes, always a safe bet.

The Formal Rose Garden has a second bloom in early September! That could be a beautiful setting for family photos!
3. Alum Creek

This dock gives me all the engagement portrait feels.

Creeks and ravines are another fall family portrait favorite of mine. If it is warm enough, little toddler toes in a shallow creek always make my heart melt.
The covered bridge at Homestead Park in Hilliard is a favorite spot for many families and for all types of photography occasions. There is also a great field and beautiful barn. In one location you can manage to get lots of different shots that are sure to make for some awesome holiday cards.
6. Topiary Park

Maybe you don’t want a dog-shaped bush in the background of a family portrait, but the pond and the grounds are really something and make a great backdrop.

This may not be a free photo shoot location but between the fantastic outdoor botanical gardens and the indoor greenhouses, your fall family portraits will be ones to remember!
