February is here! We’ve rounded up some of the best activities going on in Columbus this month. As we find additional events, we will update this Guide to February, so be sure to check back throughout the month. Many story times have returned (many remain virtual as well) if you are looking for something to do with your little ones!

February 1-7

The Month of February: Half Priced Admission to the Zoo: Enjoy this discount and be sure to check out the warm indoor exhibits. 🙂

The Month of February: Pedal Wagon at Easton: Climb aboard the Easton Pedal Wagon – the newest way to #EnjoyEaston! In partnership with Pedal Wagon Columbus, this two-hour pedal-powered cruise will take you through the streets of Easton, making stops along the way at your favorite bars and restaurants.

The Month of February: Marvel at COSI: Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until May- be sure to check out this new exhibit!

February 2-February 6: Disney on Ice: This event returns to Nationwide Arena!

(Postponed until March 3) February 3: Old Worthington Chocolate Walk: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | This popular event is a sweet stroll through our beautiful historic business district. With your $25 ticket, you will receive vouchers to redeem for treats at least 15 businesses. Each business thoughtfully prepares a chocolate treat for you to experience their business in a unique, yummy way.

February 3: Orchids for Beginners: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Franklin Park Conservatory | Take this class to explore the wonderful world of orchids and learn how to grow and care for these amazing plants. All participants will be able to take home an orchid to apply what they’ve learned.

February 5: New Albany Farmers Market: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Happy to announce that it will be back this year as an indoor-outdoor market! Join them at the Philip Heit Center. They will be utilizing our indoor spaces and their patio!

February 5: CMA Van Gogh Exhibit: Open to see and explore with a tour!

February 5: Ice Cream for Breakfast at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Come try the new flavor- maple soaked pancakes! Trying to set a new record for people having ice cream for breakfast 🙂

February 5: Special breakfast sundae at Little Ladies Soft Serve: 12:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m | Come out and enjoy!

February 5: Unicorn Party at Tremont Library: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. | Do you believe in unicorns? Join them as they celebrate this fantastical mythical animal with crafts, activities, and games. All ages are welcome, but this program is designed for grades K-5.

February 5: Valentine Crafting at Picassos: 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | Come in for 90 minutes and make up to 25 valentines! All materials included.

February 6 (now postponed): Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: 4:00 p.m. at The Palace Theater | Won’t you be my neighbor? Now postponed until May 22, but still get your tickets now!

February 8-14

February 8: Bestie Bash: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Polaris Fashion Place | Ready for a blast from the past? Classic Valentines, snacks, games, and so many fun crafts are waiting to be made at our KidX Bestie Bash. Bring your kiddos (and their besties!) and spend some time together dancing to your favorite tunes and having some fun!

February 8-10: Come From Away: Showing at The Ohio Theater!

February 8: Drop In Craft Day: Stop by anytime between 10-7:30 PM to make a fun craft for kids at Miller Park Library in Upper Arlington.

February 10: Marble Run Mania: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m . at The Lane Road Library | Experiment with different materials – straws, paper towel tubes, cardboard boxes, and marbles and try to create your own marble run.

February 10: COSI after Dark: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. | It returns! Adults only fun at COSI.

February 10-19: The Duchess: Playing at the Abby Theater- get your tickets today!

February 11: Valentine’s Day at Columbus Museum of Art: 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. | Celebrate Valentine’s Day at CMA! Explore the galleries at night and experience unique guided activities at your leisure. Connect with loved ones and enjoy a curated spread of light bites with refreshments. Tickets include a complimentary drink and there will be a cash bar for the evening.

February 11, 12 and 14: Complimentary Valentine’s Photos: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Easton Town Center| Receive a complimentary professional photo of you and your Valentine! Photos will be available for download on Facebook within a week after the photographed date.

February 11: Acrylic Pour Party for Teens: 6:30 p.m. -8:00 p.m. | You’ll learn how to do clean and dirty pours, flip cup technique and more! $35.

February 11, 12, and 14: Chihuly Nights Valentine’s Edition | All 18 Chihuly installations will be professionally lit up to create breathtaking views within the backdrop of the interior Conservatory. Valentine’s Day themed special engagements are 7–10 pm on February 11,  12 & 14.  

February 11-13: Columbus Fishing Expo: All things fishing at the Ohio Expo Center.

February 12: Worthington Farmers’ Market: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | The market will still take place at The Shops at Worthington Mall until March 2022.

February 12: Weekend Kids Art Class: Jewelry and Key chain Making: 11:00 a.m .- 12:00 p.m. | Come join in the fun at Picasso’s in Upper Arlington!

February 12: Chocolates, Champagne and Brunch: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Cooper’s Hawk Winery | Join in the fun with a group of friends! $25 dollars per person.

February 13: All Ohio Reptile Show: 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. at Franklin County Fairgrounds | Come out and see your favorite scaly friends! Masks are required and occupancy is 200 at the max.

February 13: Rocking your Red Valentine Skate: 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Skate 71 | Bring the entire family for great food and fun on the roller rink. Wear red for $5 admission.

February 13: Creekside Cocktail & Chocolate Walk: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. | Calling all chocolate lovers! Spend your Valentine’s Day Eve sampling cocktails and chocolate throughout the Creekside District. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to indulge in your favorite Gahanna treats in one night, within walking distance! Purchase your tickets to receive your wristband and passport that will guide you through the stops, each with a different, decadent sample.

February 13: Super Bowl Sunday at Rusty Bucket: 6 p.m. to close! Specials includes half off all pizzas and apps, $1 off beer, wine and cocktails, and $5 Juicy Lucy burgers. Come watch the big game (and our Cincinnati Bengals) with us! All Cameron Mitchell Restaurants are open for the Super Bowl as well.

February 11-14: Valentine’s Day Carriage Rides: 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | Experience the lights of Easton and beauty of winter from a horse-drawn carriage throughout Easton’s North District and Fenlon Square. Rides are $10 per person, cash only. Children under 15 years of age ride free with a paying adult. Carriages pick up and drop off outside of Zara on Gramercy Street.

February 14: Valentine’s Day at White Castle: 4:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. at most locations | They are inviting guests to pick up a Love Cube Meal for Two or with free delivery of orders of $15 or more. It will be back in 2023!

February 14: Rusty Bucket Family Valentine’s Day: Kids eat free with every adult entree purchase!

February 15-23

February 15: Free admission to The Columbus Zoo: In honor of President’s Day, free admission to the zoo!

February 17- March 6: Luchadora: Fun and exciting play for the entire family. Heart warming, magical story breaks down gender boundaries, and explores the importance of heritage and family bonds! Recommended for ages 7 and older.

February 19: PBJ and Jazz Samba School at Club Lincoln: 10:00 a.m. | $5 per person!

February 19: Soar on Saturdays Hip Hop: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Soar on Saturdays is a dance access program that provides young students the opportunity to explore movement over the course of a free six-week dance class.

February 19: Maple Sugar Days: $10 for each participant. Many time slots available! Also available February 26.

February 24-28

February 24: Elephant and Piggie Party: 3:00pm – 5:00 p.m. at Lane Road Library | YOU are invited to a party! Drop in for crafts, games, and other activities related to your favorite Mo Willems characters. For ages 3 and up.

February 24: Wine and Cookie Tasting Pairing: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Wild Goose Creative | Two sessions this year-Sample through 2022 Girl Scout Cookies and provide a wine sample to pair with each. From Thin Mints to Tagalongs, they have the perfect wine for every cookie!

February 26: Blooms and Butterflies : Blooms & Butterflies is back! From Feb. 26-May 31, 2022, hundreds of exotic butterflies will fill the Pacific Island Water Garden biome inside Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.

February 26: Winter Hike at Darby Creek: 10:00 a.m. | Visit Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park on Saturday February 26th at 10am for a winter day hike! This hike is 3.5-miles and has uneven terrain and tall grass, so be sure to wear hiking shoes and dress for the elements! Meet at the Little Darby Picnic Area.

February 26: Open Studio at Columbus Museum of Art: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Visit the Columbus Museum of Art where the artist for this session is Wendy Kendrick, who will be focusing on the theme “Growth”. There will be a variety of materials available for use and the artist will provide creative instruction. This event is included with admission.

February 26: Scavenger Hunt at Scioto Grove: 12:00 p.m. | Meet at the Arrowhead picnic shelter to get instructions and an activity sheet. Find all of the missing pieces and win a prize!

February 26: Wine and Cookie Tasting Pairing: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at Wild Goose Creative |Two sessions this year-Sample through 2022 Girl Scout Cookies and provide a wine sample to pair with each. From Thin Mints to Tagalongs, they have the perfect wine for every cookie!

February 26: 5th Line 5k: 10:00 a.m. at Nationwide Arena | The 2022 5th Line 5K Race begins at 10 a.m. outside of Nationwide Arena and takes participants on a 3.1-mile tour of downtown Columbus and the Arena District before “Finishing On Center Ice” inside Nationwide Arena.

February 26: Russian Ballet presents Swan Lake: Original sets are hand-painted following century-old traditions of set making and over 150 magical costumes are hand sewn. Nadezhda Kalinina’s (Mariinsky Theatre, Omsk Theatre, Teatro Lirico) choreography is brought to life in all of its whimsical grandeur.

February 26: Maple Sugar Days: Register for $10 for each participants. Many time slots available!

February 26 and 27: Maple Syrup Days at Dawe Arboretum: 1:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Walk along the trail to discover the many ways syrup has been made throughout history. Peek inside the Log Cabin, and taste a sample of this all-natural treat! Tours are first come, first served, and groups will leave every 15 minutes from 1 to 2:45pm.

February 26 and 27: Night at The Museum at Ohio History Connection:This family friendly event will entertain all ages, where you will meet and learn about dozens of characters from moments in history. Autograph books will be provided to collect signatures from all of your favorite characters of history. Hands on activities will also be provided. Tickets, times and prices are available in the link above.

February 27: Winter Bison Hike: 1:00 p.m. | Visit  Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park to see the bison in their winter pasture. This is a 2-mile hike to visit the bison and to learn about how they adapt to the winter.

February 27: Winter Hike with Your Dog: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at High Banks | Meet at the Highbanks Nature Center for a 1.5 mile hike with your family dog. A naturalist will guide you on your walk with plenty of stops for your four legged friend to get a drink and each pooch will receive a treat at the end.

Ongoing Activities

Mondays and Fridays: Winter Daze Music and Art Classes: Various times at the Art of Music in Lewis Center | Offering many times and classes for a combination of art and music. First class is free!

Wednesday and Thursdays: 50% off admission at Play CBUS!

Sunday & Tuesdays & Thursdays: Toddler Time with Get Air | It’s a toddler takeover every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday morning! Little Air jumpers (under 46”)and their parents/guardians are the only ones allowed to jump during this time.

Sundays: Columbus Museum of Art– Free Admission! The Wonder Room is a great place for kids to explore.

Maureen Ingham has enjoyed living in the great city of Columbus for nearly 13 years! Originally from Canton, Ohio, Maureen attended Ohio University and will always be a bobcat at heart! After completing her education degree in Athens, she made her way to The Ohio State University to obtain a Masters degree in Special Education. She fell in love with Columbus then and convinced her now husband to join her in this awesome city! She taught 5th grade for 6 years, before deciding to stay home to raise two beautiful girls. Their family has recently moved to Worthington with their two girls and are excited to plant their roots here! Their first daughter, Maeve is 6 and her sister, Reese will soon be 5 years old. They welcomed a son, Miles in March 2020. Maureen has been with The Columbus Moms Blog since the beginning and now enjoys working on editing and events for the blog. She also works as a Postpartum Doula with her sister at a company called Together Wee Grow. They provide night nursing services, as well as daytime support to local families and babies in Columbus. It is a wonderful job to work along her sister and help families with their precious little ones in a vulnerable time period. In between the night shifts, sweeping up crumbs, exploring Columbus, and getting kids to where they need to be, Maureen enjoys working out, trying new recipes and restaurants, traveling, spending time with family, being crafty and trying to help others whenever she can! Maureen has many Columbus favorites. Her go-to restaurant is Third and Hollywood, she enjoys a sweet treat at Sassafrass Bakery or Fox in the Snow, a slice of pizza at Dewey's Pizza and a warm cup of joe at Highline Coffee. A perfect Saturday involves an outdoor activity with her family and trying a new restaurant when they can! She is excited to be a part of an excellent team here at Columbus Moms blog and hopes to be able to inspire mothers that small acts of kindness go a long way in raising their kids and the city they live in!
