Happy March! Are you thinking all things spring? Who is ready for warmer temps and sunshine? We hope the groundhog is right like they are predicting…because we are ready for spring!

We’ve rounded up some of the best activities going on in Columbus this month. The list is full of fun for St. Patrick’s Day, along with an abundance of shows and performances, as well as outdoor activities to keep you entertained all month!

As we find additional events we will update the list, so be sure to check back throughout the month. If we missed something, please comment below.

March 1: Home and Garden Show: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at The Ohio Expo Center | The Simple Bath Simple Kitchen Home Stage, located in the Bricker Building, is home to a variety of stage presentations, celebrity appearances and entertainment geared towards homeowners. Don’t miss special Columbus Zoo programming all week, like photo opportunities with Zoo mascots daily and live animal ambassador shows every day on the weekends!

March 1: Enchanted Princess Ball of Columbus: 1:00 p.m. – 3:15 at The Point on the Park (overlooks The Columbus Commons) | You and your little one will be greeted Tink and her Litte Fairy Friends with magical Pixie Dust! Spectacular performances on stage and in the audience with by our incredibly talented cast: singing, dancing, interactive stories! Tickets are $32.

March 1: Aladdin Junior by Hilliard Memorial Performing Arts: 2:00 p.m. at Hilliard Memorial Middle School | Come out and see the show!

March 1: Go WILD Kids Club: Frogs, Toads & Salamanders, Oh My!: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Sharon Woods Metro Park | Learn about amphibians and meet some of the animal ambassadors.

March 1: Columbus Blue Jackets Family Value Pack: 7:00 p.m. at Nationwide Arena | Get a game ticket, hot dog, Pepsi, popcorn and OhioHealth Ice Haus Skate Pass starting at $30.

March 3 and 5: Open Play at KSM Sports: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. | Come check out this super fun hour of open play every Tuesday and Thursday! $6 per child and $3 per sibling.

March 4: Pancake Breakfast at Westerville Community Center: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. | Bring family and friends to their monthly breakfast at the Westerville Senior Center and enjoy pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee. All you can eat $4!

March 4: Wild Story Time: 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. at the Ohio Wildlife Center | Listen to a wildlife book with the theme of the month. Visit with animal ambassadors and walk around the grounds. $5 for adults and children 5 and under are free.

March 4: Worthington First Wednesday: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in Old Worthington | Shops open and many activities to do all throughout downtown. This month the theme is Worthington Reads!

March 4: Teen Workshop Credit Union of Ohio: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Hilliard Branch Community Room | Credit Union of Ohio is hosting a free workshop to teach teens everything they need to know about money. We’ll cover all the basics, including important topics such as managing a checking account, ID theft prevention, and building a budget. This hands-on workshop is open to both members and non-members and parents are welcome to attend as well. Refreshments will be provided and attendees must RSVP HERE to attend.

March 5, 12,19.26: Nature Storytime at Franklin Park Conservatory: 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. | Young nature lovers ages 3-5 years old are invited to gather in the garden and enjoy a story celebrating the natural world around us. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. No registration required. From January-March, Nature Storytime is in the Palm House. Beginning in April, Nature Storytime will be in the Children’s Garden.

March 6: Full Steam Ahead with Mister C: Performances at 10:00 or 12:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Theater | Students and teachers will be amazed with this fun and educational series as Mister C uses humor, media and the engineering design process to make the ordinary extraordinary!

March 6: Open Bubble Night: 5:30 p.m. at Blue Monkey| Roll Flip Bounce and of course Knock People Down. Bubble Soccer, Bubble Mini-Games, Bumper Bubbles and Dodgeball!

March 6: Family Night at Worthington Community Center: 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Put the electronics away and come and connect as a family!

March 6-8: Press Start! By Catco is Kids: Various times at Van Fleet Theater |Be transported to the bright, pixelated world of classic Nintendo and Sega video games! When the famous characters we know and love run out of lives, they decide to put on a musical fundraiser that will help them raise gold rings and play on through hilarious and heartfelt musical numbers. But when things go terribly awry, it’s the quiet sidekick Little Mushroom who must find the hero within to help save the day!

March 7: Maple Syrup Pancake Breakfast: 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Stratford Ecological Center | Enjoy breakfast, a hike through the woods and an opportunity to see the animals and the sugaring process. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children (2-12). Advanced registration required.

March 7: Indoor Farmer’s Market in New Albany: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Every FIRST Saturday in the Philip Heit Center (150 W. Main St, New Albany) from November – March. You will be able to enjoy seasonal offerings, beautifully handcrafted artisan products, an inviting array of produce, fresh baked goods, savory pastries and locally made honey, coffee, and more.

March 7: Home Depot Kids Workshop: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Home Depot | Set out on an adventure with your child in this Binoculars Workshop. Kids develop hands-on skills by gluing, hammering and more. With help from parents and Store Associates, your child will create their own pair of binoculars to take home. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron and a commemorative pin while supplies last.

March 7: Worthington Indoor Farmer’s Market: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at The Shops at Worthington Mall | The market may have moved inside for the winter months but still plenty of fresh produce!

March 7-8: Arnold SportsWorld Kid & Teen Expo: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday | A wide range of activities are planned including sports demonstrations, live entertainment and more. This event is at the Ohio Expo Center and is in a different location than the Arnold Fitness Expo. March 7Kids Club Crafts: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Michaels | Limited spots available for each class so be sure to use the link to register and check availability. They craft, you shop! $3 per child

March 7: Cahoots NI: 10:00 a.m. show and 4:00 p.m. show at Wexner Center | This event is recommended for ages 3 and up. It’s a wordless and sensory-friendly performance about two penguins in New York City’s Central Park Zoo who adopted and raised a baby chick. Between the performances, participate in Wex Wide Open Art Studio.

March 7: Free Crafts for Kids: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Learning | Each week children can make and take home a special craft. FREE

March 8: Mal’s March Madness Descendents Camp: 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at Paulette’s Princess Parties in Worthington | Enjoy Mal, Evie, Audrey and Uma * Learn Hip Hop to the “Rotten to the Core “song * Sing all your favorite songs with the VK’s * Learn to be a “VK Kid ” and join in a coronation ceremony. * Villian makeup * Dress in our fun Costumes * Make a VK Bracelet * Create spells *Perform for parents. Ages 5-9. Tickets are $25.

March 9: Columbus Blue Jackets Family Value Pack: Game starts at 7:00 p.m. at Nationwide Arena | Get a game ticket, hot dog, Pepsi, popcorn and OhioHealth Ice Haus Skate Pass starting at $30.

March 11Toddler Theater: 10:00 a.m. at the Dublin Recreation Center | This interactive musical performance is recommended for children ages 2-5. A costumed character is scheduled to make an appearance. $2 per child.

March 11: Taste of Grove City: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in Grove City | The Taste of Grove City & Business Expo features many amazing restaurants from around Grove City. Come taste foods like sushi, pizza, burgers and much much more! Visitors also get to vote on Best Restaurant and Best Pizza of the year as well as other local vendors.

March 11- March 15: My Fair Lady: Various times at The Ohio Theater | Get your tickets for a wonderful show today!

March 11- March 22: The Box Show at Columbus Children’s Theater: Recommended for ages 2-6, this is a 30-minute show with no intermission. No shows on March 16-17. CCT Original – In her family’s new home, a young girl is surrounded by boxes containing all of her belongings. She searches for her favorite toy, but instead finds an imaginary friend! This new friend shows her how to turn ordinary into extraordinary.

March 11- March 29: Moonlight and Magnolias: Various times and dates at The Riffe Center | It’s 1939 and legendary producer David O. Selznick has shut down production of his new epic, Gone with the Wind, because the script doesn’t work. The door is locked, and five days later they complete a blueprint for one of the most beloved films ever made. A show you should check out!

March 11: The Peking Acrobats: 7:30 p.m. at The Southern Theater | Redefining Chinese acrobatics, The Peking Acrobats® push the limits of human ability, defying gravity with amazing displays of contortion, flexibility, and control. Accompanied by live musicians playing traditional Chinese instruments, the company performs daring maneuvers atop a precarious pagoda of chairs and displays technical prowess at arts such as trick-cycling, precision tumbling, juggling, somersaulting, and gymnastics.

March 12: Columbus Blue Jackets Family Value Pack: 7:00 p.m. at Nationwide Arena | Get a game ticket, hot dog, Pepsi, popcorn and OhioHealth Ice Haus Skate Pass starting at $30.

March 13-15: Columbus Pet Expo: 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at The Ohio Expo Center | All the pet worlds are covered with the emphasis on promoting responsible pet ownership and to think adoption first. The ALL AMERICAN COLUMBUS PET EXPO includes aquariums, bunny races, kids world and K9 games!

March 13: Mother Son Super Hero Party: 6:30 p.m. in Delaware | Inflatables, obstacle course, backyard games and more!, superhero training room, superhero science experiment, costume characters, dance, snacks, and fun!

March 13: Family Night at Worthington Community Center: 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Put the electronics away and come and connect as a family!

March 13: Dublin Pedestrian Bridge Opening Celebration: 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. | On Friday, March 13, 2020, join the City of Dublin for the grand opening of the new pedestrian bridge over the Scioto River. There will be a community celebration and dedication event.

March 14: Worthington Pancake Day: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Worthington Kilbourne High School | Huge family event in the Worthington Community Center. Supergames, silent auction, raffles, entertainment and much more!

March 14: All Ohio Reptile Show: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Fairgrounds | Admission is $5 and kids 10 and under are $1.

March 14: Grown-Up and Me Art with Anna: 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at Art with Anna in Bexley | Make a Lucky Shamrock this month!

March 14: Free Crafts for Kids: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Learning | Each week children can make and take home a special craft. FREE

March 14: Greenest, Grandest St. Patrick’s Day Parade: 11:00 a.m. starting at Metro Place in Dublin | The parade route is approximately one mile long and lasts an hour and a half. Be sure to read the FAQ for more information.

March 14: Crest Kids Day: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Free activities and crafts for kids!  They are teaming up with Wild Cat Gift and Party for this Women’s History Month edition of Kid’s Day! Emphasizing women & girls in the environmental movement, scientists, and agriculture, communities.

March 14: Columbus Blue Jackets Family Value Pack: 7:00 p.m. at Nationwide Arena | Get a game ticket, hot dog, Pepsi, popcorn and OhioHealth Ice Haus Skate Pass starting at $30.

March 15: Barnyard Bonanza: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Hilliard Recreation | Parents of little ones, join us at Barnyard Bonanza on Sunday, March 15. There will be live animals, crafts, games and more. This is a great opportunity to have some inside fun before spring arrives! Recommended for ages 3-6. $15 per child.

March 15: New Albany Symphony Orchestra: 3:00 p.m. at the McCoy Center | Our great state of Ohio will come front and center in a concert that highlights our roots. Featuring the New Albany Symphony Chorus in Copland’s Old American Songs and the winners of our student concerto competition.

March 21-22: School House Rock: 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at The Shedd Theater | The Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever songs is making a comeback!

March 21: Mother Son Ninja Nerf Night: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Gahanna YMCA | $25/pair, $5/additional child/adult. Enjoy a night of ninja Nerf fun at the YMCA with your child! They will have Nerf battles, target practice, obstacle course and more!

March 21: National Geographic Live: 7:00 p.m. at The McCoy Center | Nature roars back with Bob Poole!

March 22: Jumpin and Jiving!: 3:00 p.m. at The Ohio Theater | Get up out of your seats and join the Symphony for a rockin’ concert that’ll keep you moving to the beat. Come ready to dance to music that’ll make you shake, rattle, and roll. Pre-concert activities beginning at 2pm include a musical craft, instruments to see and play, conducting lessons, musical tattoos, costume contest, and more.

March 29: Sesame Street Live! Let’s Party! : 10:00 a.m. at The Schottenstein Center | Everyone’s invited to take part in the sunniest and funniest street celebration in Sesame Street Live! Let’s Party! featuring your favorite Sesame Street pals Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and more in a brand-new sensory adventure live on stage. Sesame Street Live! Let’s Party!

March 30:Columbus Blue Jackets Family Value Pack: 7:00 p.m. at Nationwide Arena | Get a game ticket, hot dog, Pepsi, popcorn and OhioHealth Ice Haus Skate Pass starting at $30.

March 31: Master Chef Live: The family-friendly stage show will feature head-to-head cooking demonstrations and fun (sometimes messy!) challenges with past “MasterChef Junior” contestants, Q&A sessions, and an overall immersive audience experience fun for all ages.

Tuesdays & Fridays: Preschool Open Gym at Integrity Athletics: 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Children have the freedom to choose from a wide variety of equipment.  $5 for enrolled students and $8 for non-enrolled students. (If you have multiple children, all additional children after 1 will receive the member rate.)

WednesdaysPajama Story Time: 7:00 – 7: 30 p.m. at Northwest Library in Worthington | Children five and under will enjoy the interactive rhymes, songs, and stories.

Tuesdays & Thursdays: Toddler Time with Get Air at Tree of Life Play + Cafe: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Get Air and then a daily admission to Tree of Life Play + Cafe.

Thursdays: Toddler Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Labor Day-Memorial Day) at Magic Mountain Fun Centers | Enjoy unlimited KidsGym plus 10 arcade tickets for $2.50 per person.

Maureen Ingham
Maureen Ingham has enjoyed living in the great city of Columbus for nearly 13 years! Originally from Canton, Ohio, Maureen attended Ohio University and will always be a bobcat at heart! After completing her education degree in Athens, she made her way to The Ohio State University to obtain a Masters degree in Special Education. She fell in love with Columbus then and convinced her now husband to join her in this awesome city! She taught 5th grade for 6 years, before deciding to stay home to raise two beautiful girls. Their family has recently moved to Worthington with their two girls and are excited to plant their roots here! Their first daughter, Maeve is 6 and her sister, Reese will soon be 5 years old. They welcomed a son, Miles in March 2020. Maureen has been with The Columbus Moms Blog since the beginning and now enjoys working on editing and events for the blog. She also works as a Postpartum Doula with her sister at a company called Together Wee Grow. They provide night nursing services, as well as daytime support to local families and babies in Columbus. It is a wonderful job to work along her sister and help families with their precious little ones in a vulnerable time period. In between the night shifts, sweeping up crumbs, exploring Columbus, and getting kids to where they need to be, Maureen enjoys working out, trying new recipes and restaurants, traveling, spending time with family, being crafty and trying to help others whenever she can! Maureen has many Columbus favorites. Her go-to restaurant is Third and Hollywood, she enjoys a sweet treat at Sassafrass Bakery or Fox in the Snow, a slice of pizza at Dewey's Pizza and a warm cup of joe at Highline Coffee. A perfect Saturday involves an outdoor activity with her family and trying a new restaurant when they can! She is excited to be a part of an excellent team here at Columbus Moms blog and hopes to be able to inspire mothers that small acts of kindness go a long way in raising their kids and the city they live in!
