Happy March! Are you thinking all things spring? Who is ready for these warmer temps and sunshine we’ve been having to stick around? We hope the groundhog is wrong…because we are ready for spring!

We’ve rounded up some of the best activities going on in Columbus this month. Be sure to check links as events and information could change.

March 1- 7

March 1- March 20: Skate Around Town: Every evening from February 20 to March 20, skaters can enjoy fun on the ice at no cost! And there is no need to bring your own skates – they’ve got you covered! Only 15 skaters will be allowed on the rink at a time. Skates will be sanitized between each use, and hand sanitizer stations will be available around the rink. Masks are required, and they ask that you maintain a safe distance of six feet or more while skating.

March 1- March 7: Orchids at The Conservatory: Come see the beautiful orchids at the Conservatory!

March 2: Grandview Library Winter Reading Challenge: Download the app and every 100 points can be redeemed for a raffle ticket for ground prizes!

March 2: Sing Along with Joanie Calem: 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. | Sing along with Joanie Calem each Tuesday!

March 3: Pancake Breakfast at Westerville Community Center: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. | Stop by the monthly breakfast for pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee. All orders will be take-out only. This event will be held the first Wednesday of each month.

March 3: ARt of Charcuterie: 7:00 p.m. | Join the Whitney House and AR Workshop for a fun evening of meats, cheese, wine, and DIY. In this virtual workshop, you’ll enjoy a personal charcuterie platter, wine, learn different techniques and themes to create your own spread at home and a DIY mini wood cheese tray! Cost is $60.

March 4: Virtual Nature Storytime at Franklin Park Conservatory: 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. | Nature Storytime is an opportunity for children and families to enjoy storybooks as they’re read by staff members from beautiful Conservatory scenes. New videos are added every Thursday so tune in each week for the next story.

March 4-6: Over the River and Through the Woods: 7:00 p.m. at Westerville North High School | Westerville North is at it again. Bringing you a funny and heartwarming show all about family love and hijinks, “Over The River and Through The Woods”. Due to strict adherence to Covid guidelines, the show will be performed for the next 2 weekends (including Thursdays) so more people have the opportunity to attend and enjoy this fantastic show while staying safe. Performances are March 4-6 and March 11-13 @ 7pm at Westerville North High School. Get your tickets today!

March 5: Toddler Turf Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. | Every Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Toys, inflatables, mats and more will be available for your child to play on. Limited spots available, please book your attendance in advance.

March 6: Maple Syrup Days: 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Stratford Ecological Center | Learn how to tap a tree, help collect sap, and learn about the evaporation
process. After the maple sugar experience stop in the animal barn to say hello the animals. Be sure to book ahead as time slots are limited due to COVID. $100 for 10 slots.

March 6: Home Depot Kids Workshop: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Home Depot | Pick up a workshop kit to do at home and experience the fun!

March 6: Workouts for Wildlife: Columbus Zoo: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Come workout with wildlife- featuring penguins this month!

March 6: Worthington Indoor Farmer’s Market: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at The Shops at Worthington Mall | The market may have moved inside for the winter months but still plenty of fresh produce! 9:00 a.m. is for the high risk population and 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 is open to the public. You can also pre order!

March 6: 2021 Dispatch Spring Home and Garden Show: 10:00 a.m. | 8 days of inspiration and ideas! Safety is top priority so capacity limits will take palce and masks are requiered.

March 6-7: Columbus Sports Card Show: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Franklin County Fairgrounds| From vintage, new cards, autographs, memorabilia, non sport, racing, & supplies, dealers are ready to buy & sell.

March 7: Yoga and Mimosa: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Buckeye Lake Winery | Join in the first Sunday of every month for “Yoga & Mimosas!” Hosted by one of their local favorites, Karissa Carpenter! This experience includes 45 minutes of a step by step introduction to yoga, essential oils, one mimosa, and a healthy & light breakfast bar after stretching.

March 12: Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  | Come anytime to figure out clues to find the sneaky Leprechaun! First clue will be in the Food Court near Boost Mobile. Along the way you might do a craft, get a free snack, get a sticker or get free Arcade tokens!

March 13: All Ohio Reptile Show: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Franklin County Fairgrounds | Admission is $5 and kids 10 and under are $1.

March 13: Girls Day Out and Vendor Craft Show: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Franklin County Fairgrounds | They will have some amazing after the holidays inventory and items for you to shop! LuLaRoe, (18 different Lula consultants), Lipsense, Thirty-One Gifts, Pampered Chef, Perfectly Posh, Color Street, Norwex, Touchstone Crystal Jewelry, Custom Earrings by Shannon, Costco Wholesale, Scentsy and Paparazzi just to name some of the variety this month for you!

March 13: Reverse St. Patrick’s Day Parade: 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. | Enjoy this creative way to hold a physically distanced parade with the parade units stationary while spectators drive through the parade. See parade favorites like bagpipers, Irish dancers, floats, and giant inflatables along with other creative performances in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

March 13: Leprechaun Hat Cake Decorating: 4:00 p.m .- 5:30 p.m. at Our Cupcakery | You and a youngster (6-year olds and older) will decorate a 6-inch layer cake. New this year! A decorating kit is included in the cost of this event for you to take home.

March 13: Parents Night Out: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m | Dinner, Krafts, and themed activities are included in the price. *Shamrock Hunt (sticker prizes)
*Catch a Shamrock on our Color Wheel of Fun for a big prize!
*Lucky Pot O’Gold (corn hole with Shamrock balls, prizes Pot O’Gold trinket)

March 13: Chihuly Nights at Franklin Park Conservatory: 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. | See the Conservatory’s Chihuly Collection in a whole new light during Chihuly Nights. All 19 installations will be professionally lit to create a breathtaking view within the backdrop of the interior Conservatory biomes. Advanced tickets are required.

March 14: St. Patrick’s Day Family Friendly Event: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. | Come uptown in Worthington to celebrate the day with family!

March 14: Indoor Farmer’s Market in New Albany: Sunday in the Philip Heit Center (150 W. Main St, New Albany). It’s a drive thru market in New Albany! Be sure to pre-order and pickup is from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

March 16-23

March 18: Cookie Decorating with Plenty of Cookies: St. Paddy’s Day Edition: 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. | Bake up your own batch of sugar cookies before the class and tune in to enjoy an entertaining evening dedicated to the art of cookie decorating! Sign up on your own or make it part of a night socializing with friends remotely. An ingredient list will be sent to students prior to the class. Vegan recipes are available. Cookies must be baked prior to the start of class.

March 20: Hilliard Kidsfest: 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Franklin Country Fairgrounds | Great free family friendly event featuring camp options from throughout central Ohio, Bunny run, sleeping beauty and family activities!

March 20: Breakfast with Friends: 8:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. | Come to California Pizza Kitchen to enjoy breakfast with your favorite Springtime friends! Reservations are required.

March 20: Spring Fling: Bunny Arrival | 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | What makes the spring season even sweeter? Making memories the whole family will cherish. Join us for an Easter Eggstravaganza in welcoming the Bunny to Polaris! Enjoy FREE fun for the whole family, with COVID friendly activations like hopscotch!

March 20: PBJ and Jazz Concert: You can view concerts online on JAGTV. New Basics Brass Band this month!

March 24-31

March 26: Alice’s Adventure (Hide & Peep Egg Hunt)| 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Polaris Fashion Place | With Alice and friends, there will be an Easter egg scavenger hunt, take-home craft bag, tasty treats and more!

March 27: Create a Paper Succulent Garden with Lea Gray at FPC: 12:00 at FPC | Learn how to create a realistic succulent in this in person. All materials are included!

March 27: Easter Eggstravaganza: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.. at Vineyard Community Church in Reynoldsburg | The morning will begin inside with coffee and doughnuts, face painting, crafts, and the Easter bunny! Afterwards, things will move outside for an egg hunt for all ages. Bring your egg baske

March 27-28: Easter Event with Horse- N- Round: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Kuhlwein’s in Hilliard | Bring your camera and join for pictures with the Easter Bunny. Also enjoy the petting zoo, carriage rides, and hand led pony rides. Prices vary depending on activities.

March 27: Easter Egg Truck Hunt: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Hosted by Autism Society Central Ohio and New Beginnings Church. All ages and abilities welcome. Join them for an Easter Egg Trunk Hunt. They will have volunteers, masked-up and socially distanced, passing out pre-packed egg bags from their trunks. This is a walk-through event.

March 28: New Albany’s Farmer Market: Sunday in the Philip Heit Center (150 W. Main St, New Albany). It’s a drive thru market in New Albany! Be sure to pre-order and pickup is from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Ongoing Activities

Now through April 5: Grove City Bunny Hunt: Head to Grove City’s historic Town Center and hunt high and low for 14 hidden bunnies.

Sundays: Free Sundays at the Columbus Art Museum

Mondays: Manic Mondays: all day at Star Lanes Polaris | 1/2 price games of bowling and 1/2 price shoe rental

Tuesdays: $5 Tuesdays: Watch the latest movies for $5 admission and enjoy $2 hot dogs and $2 candy with a beverage purchase.  Be sure to visit the link for more details.

Weekdays: Preschool Open Gym at Integrity Athletics:This is your chance to get your own exclusive open gym experience! Private time slots are being offered throughout the weekday for ages 1- 6 years old. Get a group of friends together to burn some energy in their preschool room, expanded preschool area, and trampolines!

Tuesdays- Friday: Toddler Time with Get Air at Tree of Life Play + Cafe: Book private play time at tree of life! $50 for 2 hours with your “Quarenteam.”

Maureen Ingham
Maureen Ingham has enjoyed living in the great city of Columbus for nearly 13 years! Originally from Canton, Ohio, Maureen attended Ohio University and will always be a bobcat at heart! After completing her education degree in Athens, she made her way to The Ohio State University to obtain a Masters degree in Special Education. She fell in love with Columbus then and convinced her now husband to join her in this awesome city! She taught 5th grade for 6 years, before deciding to stay home to raise two beautiful girls. Their family has recently moved to Worthington with their two girls and are excited to plant their roots here! Their first daughter, Maeve is 6 and her sister, Reese will soon be 5 years old. They welcomed a son, Miles in March 2020. Maureen has been with The Columbus Moms Blog since the beginning and now enjoys working on editing and events for the blog. She also works as a Postpartum Doula with her sister at a company called Together Wee Grow. They provide night nursing services, as well as daytime support to local families and babies in Columbus. It is a wonderful job to work along her sister and help families with their precious little ones in a vulnerable time period. In between the night shifts, sweeping up crumbs, exploring Columbus, and getting kids to where they need to be, Maureen enjoys working out, trying new recipes and restaurants, traveling, spending time with family, being crafty and trying to help others whenever she can! Maureen has many Columbus favorites. Her go-to restaurant is Third and Hollywood, she enjoys a sweet treat at Sassafrass Bakery or Fox in the Snow, a slice of pizza at Dewey's Pizza and a warm cup of joe at Highline Coffee. A perfect Saturday involves an outdoor activity with her family and trying a new restaurant when they can! She is excited to be a part of an excellent team here at Columbus Moms blog and hopes to be able to inspire mothers that small acts of kindness go a long way in raising their kids and the city they live in!
