Hey there!  Thanks for checking out our Summer Camp Guide.  Given the turbulent nature of the current pandemic, we are doing our best to keep the information in this guide up to date.  However, we strongly recommend visiting the business websites or calling the business directly to verify camp information.

It’s hard to believe, but NOW is the time to start the planning process and register for Columbus summer camps.  So to help in your planning we’ve partnered with a ton of wonderful businesses that are highlighted in this guide. Columbus offers a wide range of enriching experiences for our children, perfect for a range of ages and interest levels. In today’s fast-paced and competitive world, we hear the phrase, “Kids need some time to just be kids”…..and we agree! The All-Sport camps will give kids exposure to a variety of sports and activities with enough structure to keep them organized, but enough freedom for them to be creative and have some fun like “when we were kids!” BJES offers a professional and safe environment where a parent can be confident that their son or daughter will be monitored from check in to check out each day, and that they will be around positive people in a respectful atmosphere.

Columbus College of Art & Design’s Creative Summer Workshops are one-week or two-week hands-on courses for students in grades 1–12 that enable them to develop their art and design skills in a creative and mentoring environment.

Camp Curriculum:  Printmaking, Painting, Digital Media, Animation, Illustration, Drawing, Fashion Design, and more.

Students should register based on the grade they will be going into.

Lunchtime  and after class childcare is available for students who sign up for both morning and afternoon classes.

If you have a high school student in grades 10–12 considering a future in art and design, CCAD College Preview, will make their decision clear—and earn them three college credits.  In and out of the classroom, they’ll have opportunities to meet and collaborate with other emerging artists and designers from all across the country. They’ll participate in classes, workshops, and activities taught by talented CCAD faculty and will live in one of our residence halls, experience campus and the Columbus community—just like a full-time Columbus College of Art & Design student.

Hey Parents! We know this isn’t the summer you had in mind, but we are going to make sure it is still full of learning, laughter, and a whole lot of Serious Fun!

This summer we are offering our SuperQuest Summer Camp Program for kids 3-12 years to give parents a much-deserved break from their counselor duties!

We will be bringing our CAMP OUTDOORS but they are still just as flexible as always! Sign up for one 3 hour camp or come all week! Camps will focus on soccer, baseball, yoga, golf, track & field, and gymnastics, with a fun field day week to end the summer!

Ohio Wildlife Center’s wildlife-based nature camps offer a unique experience of getting up close to wildlife and back to nature. Our rustic climate controlled Bonner Barn will be a base camp hands-on nature and wildlife adventures. Your camper will explore parts of our 20 acre private sanctuary, visit and learn about our permanent Animal Ambassadors, and what they can do to help wildlife in their own backyard. Your favorite explorer will create nature crafts, go on hikes, help with animal care and create wild memories. Our education director, a state-certified middle school science and math teacher, oversees the camp and her team is fully background checked and trained in CPR and First Aid.

New Albany Ballet Company offers several different themed camps for children as young as two years old. Our camps this year will transform your child into the land of Cinderella, American Girl Doll, Beauty and the Beast, Moana, All that Tap and Jazz, and for our youngest campers we offer a Pinkalicious Camp and a My Very first Ballerina Camp. Classroom Antics - Summer Tech Camps

Classroom Antics weeklong day camps spark creativity by allowing kids ages 7-13 to use their imagination and create, make and build new ideas, processes, games and solutions. If your child loves video games, making videos, coding, computers, LEGOs, robotics or all things tech, these camps are the perfect way for them to learn about what they love!

Kids are introduced to fun challenges and opportunities to gain new insight into STEAM subjects, instilling confidence within each camper as they learn. And they’re not alone! Classroom Antics camps are designed to inspire collaboration among campers, allowing for new friendships to blossom. Robot Academy

Turn your child’s love of LEGO into a passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Instructors inspire students to become engineers, programmers, inventors and entrepreneurs. Robot Academy is Columbus’ original LEGO Robotics and STEM camp. Our founders won the First Lego League World Championship two years in a row (first place in robotics and a Champions award) and have also won numerous national invention and science competitions. Robot Academy opened over 12 years ago and has taught thousands of young students. All skill levels welcome: Instructors tailor activities to the needs of individual students (beginner to advanced). Our goal is to build confidence in STEM: Every student wins a trophy/medal according to accomplishments and interests, so It’s the ultimate STEM experience.

5 day Virtual LEGO Robot Camp to learn how to use the robot to solve problems around the house! We have adjusted our curriculum for online use to make sure kids stay engaged and active throughout the program.

We’ve updated all of our camps due to COVID-19 and are here to put the joy back in learning this summer with camps that are fun, inspirational, and educational! Keep your child mentally stimulated this summer with math and tech camps taught by certified teachers. Camps are available for ages 5-15. All online camps have a maximum 4:1 student to teacher ratio to provide your student with individualized attention.

In addition to our online camps throughout the summer, we do have registration open for July and August in-person camps. We will maintain strict social distancing, provide each student with their own designated supplies, require masks for teachers and staff, and have smaller limits on class sizes. Franklin Park Conservatory Summer Camp

Please note that the Franklin Park Conservatory has had to cancel their summer camps for 2020.  Please check their website for information about reopening, and reinstituted programs.

Trade screen time for green time at Franklin Park Conservatory’s Summer Camps where nature shines. Fun-filled, themed camp activities will keep children engaged while offering opportunities for unstructured playtime and meeting new friends.

Dramatic Impact Drama Camps

Camps will be a week long study of Romeo and Juliet or Pinocchio.
The week will be filled with creativity focused on voice, costuming, set designing and script work.

Please note:  In-person camps limited to 9 students and virtual camps are available.

For your video game and tech-loving child, Code Ninjas is the place to be this Summer! Returning camps include Game Builder’s Club, where kids learn how to code their own video games, Roblox Create, where kids make their own themed worlds and obbys, Minecraft Create, where kids learn to 3D model in Minecraft, and Build and Browse, where kids learn the details of making their own website. Brand new camps this Summer include, Program and Play in Python*, where kids make games in Python, Roblox Royale, where kids make their own battle arena, and Minecraft Modding, where kids make mods for their favorite game. Code Ninjas Summer Camps are perfect for ages 7 to 14.

Art With Anna

Students will explore different techniques while learning the elements and principles of art, make beautiful projects, and have a blast with new friends. At Art with Anna, we believe in offering an atmosphere for learning and play and sometimes that means process over product. Most camps start at age 4, weekly themed!. Don’t wear your best dress, paint can be a mess!

Virtual Broadway2LA Summer Acting Camps

“Broadway2LA” Summer Acting Camps has gone virtual! Each day campers will receive individual instructions from their instructor, notes, and a recording of their performances using Zoom. We will also have regularly scheduled breaks throughout the day to keep the campers engaged and fresh throughout the day. Great for kids 8-12 and teens 13-16.

Camp includes:

  • Training– 5 days of coaching from a Broadway2LA Acting studio instructor

Have a Blast with Math this Summer! Camp Mathnasium can help keep your child’s math abilities strong for the coming school year in a fascinating and fun environment!

Hour 1: Face-To-Face Teaching With Our Expert Math Instructors
Explore grade-level concepts, review and preview for next school year, build mental math and number sense abilities, and become more mathematical thinkers.

Hour 2: Fun Math and STEM Activities
Enjoy math-related activities developed by our education experts just for Camp Mathnasium, including our super-popular tangrams and geoboards. Have a blast exploring science, technology, engineering, and math.
