The mission of 2nd & 7 is to promote reading by providing free books and positive role models to kids in need while encouraging young athletes of the community to pay it forward.
Our Tackling Illiteracy program encourages 2nd graders to read and provides each of those children with a visit from a student-athlete role model and a new book to take home.
In the NEW Columbus Kids’ Book Bank, we accept NEW & VERY GENTLY used K-6 books to be distributed to local classrooms and organizations that serve children in central Ohio. We need the help of individuals, teams, and businesses in our community to help us the the collection, sorting, and distribution of books.
Our annual football camp is one of the biggest fundraisers that supports our mission. Our camp promises to be one of the best camps of the summer for your child. This camp focuses on the fundamentals of football in a non-contact setting, with some of the best coaches around. Kids ages 7-14 are treated to 3 days of drills, guest speakers, great food and a lot of fun! Proceeds from camp support our mission to promote reading by providing free books and positive role models to kids in need while encouraging young athletes of the community to pay it forward.

Applications are now open for The Ohio State University’s Arts and Sciences Summer Exploration Program!
The Arts and Sciences Summer Exploration Program is a one-week non-residential academic enrichment program for middle (current 7-8 graders) and high school (current 9-11) students. In-person classes meet from 9am to 4pm each day and are taught by Ohio State faculty, staff and graduate students. Teaching is active and hands-on, encouraging students to explore new areas of study or allow them to engage in content they already have an interest in. Summer Exploration is offered in three, one-week sessions in June 2024. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pickaway Place is a community destination for classes, program, events and more! We offer a wide variety of programming from adult exercise class and education classes, open play/indoor play space, kids activities and classes; as well as a batting cage and birthday/event rental space. There is no joining or commitment fee associated with activities at Pickaway Place. And you do not need to live in Pickaway County to attend.
Paulettes Princess Parties is a full-service character production company with 80 plus characters to choose from. All cast members are talented singers, dancers, and actors who go through rigorous training to depict characters. With amazing skills, we can do something as simple as a 30-minute birthday party at your home to an Extravagant Princess Ball. Costumes are hand-crafted. Wigs are of superior quality. Our New venue Paulettes Palace and Productions is a beautiful space for parties, events, camps and classes.

We help kids see and understand the needs in their community, then develop the social-emotional skills and confidence to make a difference. All programming is intentionally-designed with age appropriate education, meaningful service activities, and time for empathetic reflection. Our various at home and in-person service projects as well as our student group Kindness Corps, enable families, schools, and other groups to nurture a commitment to kindness and find ways to take action. The 1.4-acre Heischman Park is located along Worthington-Galena Road. This small neighborhood park includes a playground, tot lot, picnic tables and a drinking fountain. The playground was renovated in 2016. Now utilized by neighboring residents, we know that pioneers traveled this way before. While digging in some flower beds, a parks crew technician found an old iron horseshoe from times past.
