Natural Play Spaces for Your Backyard

0

Warmer weather is almost here, and I wanted to share some of our favorite additions to our natural play spaces in our backyard. You don’t have to be crafty to pull these off. My nature-loving girls enjoy them and I’m sure your littles will too!

Nature Station

My girls love this nature explore station in our sunroom! It’s great for rainy days too. Goodwill for the win – 99 cents for the shelf with a half-off sale. I love a great deal! And it’s a wonderful way to repurpose those Melissa and Doug wood crates.

Outdoor Car Track

I spent about $13 on this quick and easy car track. It’s a great place to use chalk on as well. I bought a little plastic container to leave some cars outside in so you don’t have to remember to bring them in and out. You know how many trips we already take. Make it easy on yourself Mama!

Log Stepping Stones

The tire swing tree at my parents’ house died so it had to be cut down. I’m using part of my childhood in my kids’ lives with these log stepping stones. They even double as art canvases for chalk.

Mud Painting

Get some dirt in a bowl and let your kids spray water to make it into the mud. Use a watercolor paintbrush and let them create silly faces, a pig, or whatever their little hearts desire. I think my girls enjoyed the spray bottles the most!
