A big thank you to our numerous sponsors for heartily supporting this community resource, and in particular to our title sponsors, The Barrington School and Villa Montessori.
At the Barrington School, our mission is to provide children with the highest quality of care in a loving, organic environment where your child’s education, nutrition, and learning experiences are the top priority. We view nutrition as a foundation for building healthy bodies and developing young minds. To this end, each school boasts an organic chef that prepares three meals onsite daily. All food served at our schools is certified organic and we strive to utilize fresh and local ingredients whenever possible. The Barrington School has an all-inclusive operating model where diapers, wipes, bedding, bibs, and organic sunscreen are provided for your child at no additional cost. Our schools stand apart by maintaining teacher-student ratios that are below those required by the State of Ohio. With additional teachers in our classrooms, we are able to provide an increased level of safety, as well as a deeper, more personal connection with each individual student. To enhance each student’s experience within our schools, we incorporate educational enrichment activities on a daily basis. These include special programs such as: music, dance, yoga, cooking, Spanish, and art. We invite you to visit any of our locations to meet our experienced staff and witness our educational philosophy in action.

Children flourish at Villa Montessori Preschool (VMP), a Montessori and Reggio-inspired program serving children infants (6months) to 6-years-old! VMP’s classrooms help children become self-motivated learners, following the Montessori principle that children are the facilitators of their education, the teacher a guide. Their authentic Montessori curriculum is further enhanced by a Reggio Emilia inspired arts and science program. Together, Montessori and Reggio create S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) as core components of their respective curriculum. Junior Explorer Club Preschool
Address:1033 Old Henderson Road Columbus Ohio 43220
Phone Number: (614)-516-3325
Using a teaching method called, The Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, this learning environment mirrors what we have been doing at the JUNIOR EXPLORER CLUB for years by using nature and beyond when it comes to learning. This method of learning views young children as individuals who are curious about their world and have the powerful potential to learn from all that surrounds them. Working with everyday items like pine cones, rocks, marbles, sticks and more, the children utilize creative play as an introduction to early educational learning. Our goal is to make certain your children are safe and happy, but also productive. We don’t see ourselves as a traditional preschool program but rather advocates for your child’s social and educational development. We do this through educational creative care while occasionally using community involvement, or what we call ‘adventures’ that empower and inspire.

The 3YO Explorer program is designed with the intention of honoring the integrity, wholeness and wisdom of young children. The 3YO Explorers are engaged in informal learning throughout
their day. Best practices in early childhood development are at the center of each of our youngest students’ experiences as evidenced through open ended play in the classroom, movement and discovery on our Nature Playground and extensive exploration of our 231-acre campus. Low-tech and high in multisensory experiences, the child-centered 3YO Explorer program is one filled with opportunities for serendipity, spontaneity and fun. By following the curiosity of the children and natural rhythms that unfold in the classroom, teachers guide the children
through experiences that encourage them to grow and develop socially, emotionally and intellectually.
The pre-kindergarten program strives to provide an inviting, safe, and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to discover and develop their individual skills and abilities. Opportunities for active and experiential learning are offered daily through both child-initiated and teacher-directed activities in order to support children in their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. We are committed to creating a differentiated, enriching environment where children are engaged in a continuous process of development based on their individual ability, readiness and interest.
