Can you remember the last time you actually made it to midnight on New Year’s Eve? Ever since we had kids, my wife and I haven’t made it past 10:30pm. (And to be honest, we rarely made it to midnight before we had kids….) But we love celebrating the new year with our kids, and Noon Year’s Eve events have been an amazing way for our entire family to join in the fun. Celebrate with Columbus Moms Blog this year at Goldfish Swim School Lewis Center! The celebration will begin at 10:30am on December 31, 2019!
What exactly is a Noon Year’s Eve party?
Noon Year’s Eve is a family-friendly event focused on allowing kids to celebrate the new year at a time when they are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. This year, we’re hosting the event at Goldfish Swim School in Lewis Center on December 31, 2019, from 10:30am-12:30pm. The entire place will be ours! We’ll swim, splash, and celebrate our way into the new year!

December 31, 2019
10:30am: Doors Open
The Columbus Moms Blog and Goldfish Swim School Lewis Center crew will swing open the doors at 10:30am to welcome you to the party! After checking in, you’ll be on your way to swimming into the new year. {You can come dressed in swim gear or use the numerous dressing rooms to change.}
If you’ve never enjoyed a swim at Goldfish Swim Center Lewis Center (the newest Columbus-area GSS location), then you are in for a treat when you first wade into the heated (to 90 degrees) pool! Goldfish Swim School puts both safety and fun front and center in their state-of-the-art facility, too. There will be several lifeguards on duty watching over the pool area. For safety purposes, Goldfish Swim School requires at least one adult to be in the water with each child who cannot swim independently. There is not a shallow end in the pool so many children won’t be able to stand and reach the bottom. Flotation devices are permitted as long as they are US Coast Guard approved (there will be a stamp indicating.)
Families can swim, take a festive picture, color, or create a craft. Be sure to snap a selfie or two at our New Year’s Eve Selfie Station. Next, move on to the activity table for some New Year’s coloring, resolution making, and a noisemaker craft to shake.
11:15am: The Little Mermaid Arrives!
Our featured mermaid guest will grace us with her presence at 11:15am, so you’ll want to be sure to arrive well before then! From 11:15am-12:15pm the Little Mermaid will joyfully join our swimmers throughout the event, greeting and taking pictures with the guests. She’ll also be dazzling us with her voice as she sings a few different songs that are sure to make the day even brighter. A big thanks to Paulette’s Princess Parties for sending the Little Mermaid our way!
Just before 12:00pm: Countdown to Noon!
Right before the clock strikes 12, we will all count down together, before ringing in the Noon Year with a balloon drop!
12:30pm: The Event Ends
Promptly at 12:30 pm the event will conclude. Make sure you leave enough time to change clothes, put on shoes, dry your hair with the blowdryers provided by GSS and whatever else you might need to do before walking out the door.

Ticket Information
Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 8:00 pm. All attendees age 6 months and older must purchase a ticket to attend the event. No tickets will be sold at any Goldfish Swim School location nor available at the door the day of the event. This is a pre-sale ticketed event only. Last year we sold out in just a few hours, so we encourage you to set an alarm and purchase ASAP to ensure you will be joining us for this fun family event!
There are two ticket options. Tickets for swimmers are $12 per attendee, plus the eventbrite fee. Tickets for non-swimmers are $8 per attendee, plus the eventbrite fee. Due to the capacity of the pool, we are unable to permit anyone that didn’t purchase a swimmer ticket in advance to get into the pool. So, please plan accordingly before purchasing tickets.
