Ringing in the Noon Year {Event Recap}

We had a blast at our Noon Year’s Eve Party as we said goodbye to 2019 and hello to 2020! A big thank you to all of the guests for attending and our sponsors for their support of this event.

A few snowflakes fluttered to the ground that morning but that didn’t stop our good time because Goldfish Swim School-Lewis Center was toasty. With a pool temperature of 90 degrees and tropical decor, it was easy to forget about the dreary Ohio weather.

Take a look at all the fun we had below!

The Activities

Families swam and splashed while several of the Goldfish Swim instructors carefully watched to make sure everyone was safe. It was a great way to put those swimming techniques learned in lessons to use! Don’t forget that all three Goldfish Swim School locations offer perpetual swim lessons year-round to ensure kids maintain their swim confidence and skills.

The Little Mermaid (provided by Paulettes Princess Parties) dazzled guests with her wonderful singing voice and engaging personality. She posed for lots of pictures, shared about life under the sea, read a story and lead the countdown to the balloon drop. If you are looking for an entertainer for your special event or a themed camp or class at the studio, then check out Paulettes Princess Parties!

Giant Eagle

We knew our guests would be spending a lot of time in the pool and we wanted quick and easy things they could eat at the event or take home with them. Giant Eagle Market District was the main supplier for our snacks. They provided cheese sticks, fruit (bananas, apples and oranges), individual bags of pretzels, granola bars, fruit snacks, juice boxes and water bottles.

Giant Eagle is the perfect place to shop for party food because they have such a wide variety of things. My kids love going grocery shopping with me to get something to eat utilizing the Little Shopper Treat Card. With this program, kids can get a piece of fruit from the produce section, a cookie from the bakery (this is often what they pick) or a slice of cheese from the deli. It’s nice to give them something to munch on for a bit while I focus on shopping.

Cookies are sure to be a crowd pleasure at any get-together. Happy Cookie custom-designed the ideal treat for this event. The cookies were individually wrapped and oh so adorable! The smaller size was great for our guests because the cookies could be eaten in just a few bites. These cookies sure did bring a smile to everyone!

local custom designed cookiesOH! Chips produces kettle chips locally and can be found in grocery stores, restaurants, breweries and food trucks. The bold flavors were very tasty. OH! Chips brought three different flavors for us to try: Roasted Garlic Parmesan (it’s their #1 bestseller and easy to see why!), Sea Salt and Sweet Potato. Yum!

We had a blast ringing in the Noon Year at this family-friendly event. We bet with all of the swimming the kiddos sure were tired and very few (parents included) made it to midnight. Cheers to a wonderful 2020 for you and your family!

Amy Onifer
Amy is an "on the go momma" to two spunky and fun loving kids (ages 9 & 8). She came to Columbus to pursue a career in elementary education and decided this was home. She’s an avid traveler, yet can’t master the art of packing. Her philosophy is bring it all because you don’t know if you’re going to need it. If you ever decide to take a trip with her, don’t worry about bringing a camera because she’ll take enough photos of the experience that it will likely crash your hard drive. Before kids, you could find everything neatly organized and straight vacuum lines in her carpet, but these days she's not bothered with worrying about the small stuff. You can catch her belting out her favorite song, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and using her two left feet to bust a move with her family during their frequent impromptu dance parties. She loves living in such a family-friendly city!
