Like an estimated 500 million other people, I downloaded TikTok during quarantine. I decided to use the free time that I definitely did have (while having a 5-year-old and 2-year-old at home 24/7 and trying to juggle a fulltime job also transitioning to working from home) to figure out why so many people were obsessed with the social platform.
It started as a social experiment … why was Gen Z so obsessed with the Tiktok app originally designed as a lip-syncing app? (*musical.ly)
…Then I realized I actually liked it…mainly for the wine-drinking, toddler shaming, most realistic portrayal of moms on the internet. Looking to check it out but don’t know where to start? Here are my favorite TikTok moms to follow:
@ErikaPicciolo
Legit my favorite TikTok mom. Talks wine, kids and the latest TikTok trends.

@aymieandgracie
Literally the sweetest mother-daughter duo on Tiktok. I wish I had this mom’s patience.

@hotmomma95
Constantly reliving all the dramatic things her kids do. Swears a lot. Her kids tattle about the other kids swearing a lot, and, in the process, swear even more. I love it.

@honestlymommy
Newborns. Pumping. Sweet Dance moves. Mom jeans. Winning.
Video: How long it takes her kids to clean up
@ollierose
Has serious thoughts about cup of noodles. Has awesome hair. Leaves sticky toys on the ceiling because her kids throw them up there.

Bonus: as the mom of a five-year-old boy who is currently running around the house in an Elsa dress, I have a special love for this TikTok dad.
