Each year our family looks forward to the tradition of seeing as many Christmas light displays as we can. This year seeing Christmas Lights will be a great socially distant activity and a wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of the season! Here’s a list of Holiday Light Displays Around Columbus (and beyond) that you don’t want to miss!

WonderLight’s Christmas in Ohio

Dates: November 13, 2020 – January 3 2021 (5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.) rain, shine or snow!

Location: National Trail Raceway (2650 National Road SW, Hebron, OH 43025)

Details: Drive through this holiday light display and see 1 million LED lights as you listen to traditional and newer Christmas music.

Conservatory Aglow at the Franklin Park Conservatory

Date: November 14, 2020 – January 10, 2021

Location: Franklin Park Conservatory

Details: Conservatory Aglow returns for the biggest and brightest holiday show in the history of the Conservatory, extending beyond the building and into The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation Children’s Garden as well as the Grand Mallway. Be sure to check the website for dates and times of the various events and special prices for this year. Conservatory Aglow is a Special Engagement that occurs November 14th 2020 – January 10th 2021 from 5-9pm. On these dates, General Admission will end at 4pm.

The outdoor Conservatory experience will be twinkling, glowing, and magical thanks to thousands of lights presented in stunning displays. This is a breathtaking holiday light display!

Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

Dates: Thursday, November 19, 2020 (Member Preview Night)- January 3, 2021 (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas)

Details: Millions of lights illuminate the zoo in one of the best holiday light displays in the city!

Butch Bando’s Fantasy of Lights

Dates: November 20, 2020 – January 3, 2021

Location: Alum Creek State Park Campgrounds (3311 South Old State Rd., Delaware, Ohio 43015)

Details: Stay warm and toasty in your car as you travel through this drive-thru light show spectacular. They have a Santa mail option this year too!

Easton Town Center Holiday Light Display

Dates: November 20, 2020 is the first date for the tree being lit, but lights remain throughout the holiday season.

Location: Easton Town Center

Details: Shop and stroll through the sidewalks of The Strand. Enjoy the sight of the tree as it reflects on the Central Park Fountain. Grab something festive to drink in Easton’s newest district. Wherever you may be, experience the delight of over two million lights as they illuminate the Center. Be sure to keep your eyes open – you never know when you will happen upon an enchanting seasonal surprise!

Scioto Mile Holiday Light Display

Dates: Beginning November 20, 2020

Location: Scioto Mile

Details: Walk along the Scioto Mile and view the lights on 150 trees and thousands of lights!

Fairfield County Festival of Lights

Dates: November 26, 2020- December 25, 2020

Location: Fairfield County Fairgrounds

Details: Drive through the fairgrounds and enjoy the lights. There is a $5 fee.

Light Up Camp

Dates: November 27, 2020 – December 27, 2020 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Also open on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas. Hours vary depending on the day.

Location: Flying Horse Farms

Details: A free seasonal drive-through light display will be set up. Camp buildings will be transformed into a twinkling, musical wonderland of safe, physically distanced family fun.

Winter Wonderland at Creekside Park

Dates: Begins mid-November through the end of December

Location: 117 Mill Street Gahanna Ohio

Details: A beautiful light display! Be sure to check the website for updates for 2020, as things will be set up differently.

Inniswood Illuminated

Dates: December 1 – January 10

Location: Inniswood Metro Gardens

Details: There are seasonal lights outside near the Herb Garden and a disco ball in the spruce forest. Walk around the gardens until 8 pm each night. That’s a great way to get in a walk and enjoy the beauty!

Metro Parks

Locations: See above for the details for Inniswood Metro Gardens. In addition light displays have been added to Blacklick Woods, Highbanks, Homestead and Scioto Grove metro parks. The lights will be on from 5-8 pm.

21 Days of Christmas Lights

Dates: Friday, December 11 at 5 p.m. – Thursday, December 31 at 9 p.m.

Location: Pickerington Village (Columbus St. and all around the Village)

Details:Load the family in the car and enjoy all the holiday lights as you drive around the historic Pickerington Village.

Segaway Holiday Lights Tour

Dates: Dates for 2020 will be determined soon!

Location: Begin at The Greater Columbus Convention Center (400 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215)

Details: Listen to holiday music and look at the lights as you glide around Columbus on a segway.

State Auto’s Christmas Corner

Dates: TBD – Jan. 4: Daily from 6 – 8 a.m.; 5:00 – 11:30 p.m.; until 12:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays

Location: 518 E Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215

Details: A life Sized Nativity Scene can be found at State Auto Headquarters. They will not have weekend concerts this year due to COVID-19.

Neighborhoods and Houses with the Best Christmas Lights

Lights of Glenross

Times: Runs Sunday-Thursday from 5-9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 5-11 p.m. (Begins November 26, 2020 until New Year’s Day)

Location: Delaware, Ohio between US 23 and South Old State Road

Details: Over 300 houses for 2020 choreographed to Christmas music! Tune to 94.1 FM to listen and enjoy.

Cost: This neighborhood light show is free, but in 2020 consider donating to The People in Need in Delaware County through the link on their website. However, they want people to have a FUN Christmas activity this year!

Griswold Delaware

Dates/Times: Starts Thanksgiving night through January 1, 2021 from 6 pm – 12 am.

Location: Delaware, Ohio

Details: There will be even more lights than last year! There are 120,035 lights and 235 hours of time to put up. The whole house and yard is decked out. This is something you will want to see in person. Wow!

Lucy Depp Park Light Show

Dates/Times: Runs Sunday-Thursday from 4-10 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 4-11 p.m. (until New Year’s Day). The first night is Black Friday in 2020!

Location: Frabell Drive, Powell, Ohio

Details: It’s double the size of last year! Donations go to Peace for Paws! Tune in to 87.9 to hear the show!

Dazzling Christmas Lights First Night

Location: 649 Old Coach Road Westerville, Ohio 43081

Details: 6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. The display is one house with over 100,000 Dazzling Christmas Lights that dance to music. Tune your car radio to 90.1 FM. and bring can food items. The display runs November 27, 2020 to December 31, 2020 Sunday-Thursday 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. This is a free event all season long.

Location: Pickerington

Details: This is the 6th year for this light display and every year it gets bigger and bigger. For 2020 they have upgraded to a computer controlled light show with 16 Christmas songs. Runs nightly from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. Sunday-Thursday 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Gibbswold Light Display

Location: Obetz (1069 Gartner Ct, Columbus, OH 43207)

Details: Located in Butler Farms in Obetz this dazzling show begins nightly at 7 pm.

Lewis Center

Location: 5362 Polor Drive, Lewis Center

Details: Tune to 88.3 FM for the music.

Upper Arlington

Location: 4460 Reed Road

Details: Tune to 96.5 FM and enjoy the sounds of the season.

Grove City

Location: 2013 Bellflower Court, Grove City

Details: Many of the light displays on this house are homemade. There’s even a lighted Elf on the Shelf that moves nightly. This couple loves spreading joy and bringing happiness to others. The neighbors on Bellflower Court do a nice job as well.

Details: This house goes all out at Halloween so of course they do it up for Christmas. There are different songs synchronized to lights so it’s fun to stay and watch a few songs play through. The lights even change colors.

Details: From 6-9 pm each night through New Years, there will be a rotating 3-song show running every 30 minutes.

Christmas Lights: Locations Outside of Columbus

The Legendary Lights of Clifton Mill

  • This is a bit farther away, but so worth the drive!

Dates: Starts the day after Thanksgiving and continues through December 31. (Closes at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve.)

Location: Clifton Mill (75 Water Street, Clifton, Ohio)

Details: You will be in awe as you watch the musical twinkling light show along the gorge. There’s also a miniature village for model trains, a Santa Claus Museum with a wide variety of trinkets dating back to the 1800’s and a restaurant. Expect lines to be longer with social distancing inside the buildings and masks are required.

The Christmas Ranch

  • Located North of Cincinnati

Dates: November 20, 2020 – December 23, 2020 (Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas)

Location: The Christmas Ranch (3205 S. Waynesville Road in Morrow, Ohio 45152)

Details: 1 million lights are set to synchronized holiday music. Besides the lights, you’ll find a bakery, 6 shops, pictures with Santa, and train & wagon rides (be sure to check the website for dates and times of these and modifications being made for COVID-19.)

Winterfest at Kings Island

  • Located North of Cincinnati

Dates: They will be back in 2021 and look forward to seeing you then!

Location: Kings Island (6300 Kings Island Drive, Kings Island, OH 45034)

Details: The park has been transformed into 9 different winter wonderlands with more than 5 million lights on display. Up to 19 rides will be open, strolling performers, holiday shows and more.

  • Located in Coshocton

Date: December 5, 2020

Location: Roscoe Village (600 N. Whitewoman St., Coshocton, OH 43812)

Details: Daytime activities include strolling carolers, Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides and other festivities. In the evening, there’s the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Masks and social distancing are required.

Christmas at Kingwood

  • Located in Mansfield, Ohio

Location: Kingwood Center Gardens (50 N. Trimble Rd. • Mansfield, Ohio 44906)

Details: The rooms of Kingwood Hall are decorated to depict various Christmas carols. Outside you’ll find thousands of lights. Fun holiday light display!

Dickens Victorian Village: Courthouse Light Show

  • Located in Cambridge, Ohio

Dates: November 1, 2020 – January 1, 2021

Location: Guernsey County Courthouse lawn, Wheeling Avenue

Details: The historic courthouse comes alive with an interactive light and sound show.  Cambridge is such a charming city. After, take a stroll and see various life-size, hand-crafted mannequins that are arranged along Wheeling Avenue. Read more here about Dickens Victorian Village.

  • With the Coronavirus pandemic a huge global issue, Dickens Victorian Village will curtail many activities for the 2020 season. The mannequins will be on display in historical downtown Cambridge, the Guernsey County Courthouse Light Show will run nightly, two Victorian Teas are scheduled, two cemetery tours and trolley tours.

White Gravel Mines: Christmas Caves

  • Located in Minford, Ohio

Dates: Open Friday & Saturday nights from now until December 19, 2020.

Details: This is a self-guided light display underground through caves. There are twinkling lights, Christmas music and Biblical scenes. Admission is free but a $1 donation per person is appreciated. Check out the FAQ on their website for more details.

Oglebay: Winter Festival of Lights

  • Located in West Virginia (120 miles from Columbus)

Dates: November 5, 2020 – January 10, 2021

Location: 465 Lodge Drive Wheeling, West Virginia

Details: This is one of the nation’s largest holiday light displays , covering more than 300 acres over a 6-mile drive throughout Oglebay! The Winter Festival of Lights is viewable Sunday through Thursday until 10:00 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday until 11:00 p.m. A per car donation is requested and is valid for the entire festival season. Trolley tours are offered several times each night beginning at Wilson Lodge. Saturdays are very popular nights to visit. Long lines and wait times should be expected.

  • Located in Louisville, Kentucky

      • Butch Bando’s Fantasy of Lights is a drive-through light show. You stay in your car the entire time. They have even more displays this year and it is great! Also, close to there is the neighborhood Glenross which you can drive through before or after.
