Moms, can we just all agree that some days, weeks, and even months are really hard?! And while yes, this too shall pass, when you are living in the hard phase, it sometimes feels impossible to see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. So…I am here to tell you it’s OK to say your kids can be gremlins. =) This is where a mom tribe comes into play!
This is where finding “your people” is so incredibly important. The phrase “Find your Tribe and Love them Hard” means so much more to me now that I’m a mom, especially because I am a mom with no family in town!
Every kid (and mom) can have bad days, but now that I have “a tribe,” I seem to manage the chaos better. Or at least I have found people that I can laugh it off with. I also have friends that I can turn to, call in favors, and ask for help when trying to juggle all of the things. These women are “living my life” in so many ways and can relate to all the trials and tribulations that is motherhood.
So mommas, get out there and find your tribe! Join a mom group (here’s a list for around Columbus: Meeting More Mamas), volunteer in your kiddo’s school, meet your neighbors, make small talk at the park, etc. And when find that mom you click with, get their number! Plan play dates, check in if you know things in their world are crazy, offer to carpool, take their kids for a few hours to give them a break, go for a walk after school drop off, check to see if they need anything at the grocery store, and always remember their favorite beverage. =)
